There are 20 vaccines fully approved in countries with very high standards. There are a further 30 vaccines well advanced in approval processes. These 50 vaccines are all identifiably different and fall into 4 major types

So which vaccine is the thread starter bitching about.

Some perfectly sound vaccines have been developed in more than 20 different countries. Kasakhstan, Iran, Cuba, Taiwan for examples have done so as well as the larger countries. I recommend that the op if he does not like the American product tries the Kasakh product. It has the added advantage that he would be gone for quite some time.

If he wants a more mainstream product more folk have had the Chinese, Russian and Indian shots than anything else.

But in answer to the title of this thread - They ARE approved because volunteers took experimental vaccines to see whether they worked and were safe - part of the approval process, They need celebrating as heroes who put their health at risk to help others.

Herd immunity changes with every new variant. Add complexity, the rate changes. They are finding out new information on the daily that changes our approach. The things they know for sure, like masks preventing spread, they repeat. Things like new variants...not so much..they are the best in the world working around the clock to learn everything they can and then make decisions that impact billions

Fact 1 Israel is not the most vaccinated country.
Fact 2 It does not have the highest infection rates.
Fact 3 Israel has less infections and only has a death rate of about 20 to 30 % of similar sized US populations. Georgia and New Jersey are very similar in size to Israel.
Fact 4 Only 4 US states out of 50 have a better death rate per million than Israel (Maine, Vermont, Hawai and Alaska). All 4 are much less densely populated.
Fact 5 The current infection rate from the Delta variant has seen a spike in Israel but the low death rate is clear evidence that their vaccination programme has prevented many deaths.
