circumcision

You obviously have the Internet, so finding the research that shows the benefits of circumcision in the reduction of acquiring and transferring STDs is readily available via a simple search. I refuse to cite because many people often just dismiss the source of the cite.(This is not an attack on you, but more of an anti-frustration defense for myself)..

If you want a specific search that leads to a report from The Lancet, just google "Effect of male circumcision on risk of sexually transmitted infections and cervical cancer in women."
I really shouldn't have to provide links to easily located information.

I read the Lancet article and it's compelling, but it's worth noting that the author is a member of the Circumcision Academy of Australia so he kinda would say that. All the same, good stuff. However, most of the transmissions referred to stem from bad hygiene not through the presence of a foreskin. It reminds me of a myth put around by doctors to students with STI - that they mustn't drink while on a course of antibiotics. A pharmacist looked into it and could find no medical reason, but supposed it lessened the risk of the passing it on while drunk.

Maybe doctors could recommend removal of fingernails that harbour dirt, or sewing up belly-buttons - known for being full of bacteria?

As an example of bad hygiene, porn vids showing anal followed by vaginal penetration makes me mad. Plus any guy that can't be bothered to wash his dick is already showing a risky attitude and probably increases the chance that he's got a STI.

I know it's a chore to cite articles but the trolls do it all the time: they'll find one exception to a widespread practise to make them scream "Stop". Fox News wouldn't exist without it.

Totally agree with you challenging the comparison between FGM and circumcision - the clues in the title 'mutilation'.

indeed, so chopping bits off for no good reason, other than superstition, isnt mutilation? the hutus will be well chuffed / deeply offended.

You're going to hate hearing this, but pediatricians recommend it because they can't count on parents to clean the foreskin and glans properly and consistently.

Oh no doubt. I don't hate hearing the facts ever.. I still believe American parents should take a "permit" test of some sort. I get it.

My son was our second so I got lazy and I can totally see it happen. My first was a daughter and they don't come with a handbook either. Changing a little lady is different.

Wrong. :) They recommend it because they get paid a fee. The essential diagnostic feature of all 'voluntary' procedures.

I understand, but I’m speaking more to the procedure itself, not the number of people who do it. Doesn’t seem to be a major procedure with high risk.

I'm circumcized and would love to slit the throat of the butcher who did me. The creep cut too much off so if I have sex with a woman who is tight then the skin just below the head rips. This means no sex until it heals.

I think it's a cruel decision to cut the foreskin off a male baby who can't talk or defend himself. The human race existed for thousands of years before modern medicine, and those with foreskins survived despite the lack of what we consider proper hygiene.

Why not let the young man decide for himself when he's achieved puberty and can understand what's involved? I'm thinking the majority of them would decide to remain uncut.

Speaking as a female who has had one busted off in her 20 seconds in, too many times to count, a lot of guys could stand to lose a little more sensitivity. Haha
agreed. I'm cut, tip is still sensitive but the ladies seem to like that i keep pumping longer than most. they always smile when they see it's cut and comment 'that's nice' as they go to blow me.

Parents are real optimists. They tell the hospital,,, cut it off it will grow.

If the excuse for circumcision of a baby boy would justify the relative equivalent circumcision of a baby girl, I guess that would be arguably fair.

What level of circumcision and excuses is considered acceptable for female infants?

I'm cut so I don't know, but isn't an uncircumsized cock more sensitive? I imagine that could be both good and bad.

I love mine wouldn’t change for anything! Growing up was self conscious Beckie was different but don’t mind being a little different! Never had a women not have sex because of it or not blow me! I keep it clean and found some baby soap to use makes it soft and silky

I'm in the UK so only a couple of the cocks I've ever met have been cut. My personal opinion is that cocks without foreskins are just a bit boring. Less fun to play with.

Most women I know feel similarly - it's hardly a deal-breaker, but unless you're a devout adherent of a religion which requires it, why bother? I know some Jews now go for a symbolic cut rather than removal of the whole foreskin.

My husband is circumcised, he was the 1st man id ever been with was, ive not seen that many in real life but long as it works thats all that counts,

I like that I’m circumcised, but know it is not something I would do to myself in adulthood. I’m glad my parents got it out of the way during a time I can’t remember it.

Well I'm cut, the ladies always react positively saying that is their oreference as they envelope their sweet lips around it.

So babies don't feel pain? Or babies are always crying so who gives a fuck? Maybe that's why the US has so much gun crime, from all that childhood anger? :D

My only point was I don’t remember it. Don’t remember my parents talking about it like it was a big deal.

i imagine most men would be less than keen to have it done if it wasn't something babies are subjected to, not grown-arsed men

of course babies feel pain. and it's not just the immediate cut, either, there's that whole urine-scald thing as a baby urinates. i simply cannot imagine willingly putting my own sons through that (and didn't)... when a baby screams in pain, it's torturous

and just to be clear: i've not had that many sexual partners but have experienced both cut and uncut. i see no visual advantage for either, seen no difference in hygiene/health because of it, and every cock is different anyway. There are simply even more options in foreplay with an uncircumcised one.
