Ole Miss softball coach accused of tryst with student recently married

So...a recently married woman (to a man) who is a softball coach at Ole Miss had a fling with a softball player, and that player's girlfriend got jealous and filed a complaint, at which point the Head Coach offered to put the player(s) on scholarship to keep them quiet. Is this life imitating art or the other way?

So...a recently married woman (to a man) who is a softball coach at Ole Miss had a fling with a softball player, and that player's girlfriend got jealous and filed a complaint, at which point the Head Coach offered to put the player(s) on scholarship to keep them quiet. Is this life imitating art or the other way?

So the player was a woman too, I assume. But the coach didn't do anything illegal, from what can gather, so it sounds like an attempt to strong-arm some money out of the school. And it worked.
