If women are forced by a state to give birth, doesn't that make the state responsible for the child's upbringing, health, education? A surrogate parent?

Not any more than the state being responsible for those who would be murdered but weren't because of laws against it.

You would think so, but the Republican party works on "own librals," not on logic.

If the woman doesn't want the child, she can always give him/her up for adoption.

Which means she will then also deal with additional income needed to pay for pregnancy, missed work...etc. What if she doesn't want that?

Go to the adoption agency early. Adoptive parents are happy to pay for all of this.

That works now because abortion is legal, so there are not so many unwanted babies born, so there's a high-demand adoption market. There was a time when it wasn't so easy -- and that time will return if abortion is banned.

I'm sure many are.I'm sure it's not a guarantee as well. You know another choice, that is a guarantee is abortion. No worries about complications or needing to depend on someone else for a promise they might not keep. It's also a simple medical procedure.

Then let's see what happens. Killing to solve the problem isn't really a civilized option.

Sorry, that's going to be illegal.

I'd love to hear that you were raped and had to carry the rapists' child for nine months and go through childbirth in Texas and then have the Republican government not give a shit about what happens to either you or the baby afterward. I'd just love to see you trapped into that medieval barbarity.

Or perhaps she could turn on the light in her brain and avail herself of the mountains of free birth control available, or demand the same from her mate.

Doubtful - too many non-"I don't want the responsibility of a baby" reasons to outlaw abortions. But also, good luck on your biblical crusade.

It has nothing to do with the Bible, though it could.
