Because of the building demand they went on to higher degrees and a great many of them ended up as professors in those schools. There is a way the states can make a start. First of all restrict all subject matter taught in 1-6 grades to the three 'R's' and history. Scrutinize the history text books for content. In grades 7-12 NO education majors need apply. The teacher must have a Masters degree in the subject being taught. Again, all texts used need to be scrutinized for content.

Bring technical schools and/of courses back into the mix. A great many children are NOT college material either by mental ability or by demeanor. There is nothing wrong with learning a trade. It's good honest labor, pays well, and gives a person a purpose in life.

One of the most heinous acts the new age Bolshevik's have done is to demean the blue collar worker.

Some interesting stuff going on over in India. Apparently the public schools over there are as bad as ours. Centralized one size fits all type of system. So thousands of small, inexpensive, private schools have cropped up all over the place and the parents, as poor as they are, are opting for the private schools. And the private schools are out performing the public schools.

Up front they pretend to support blue collar workers with rhetoric only but behind the scenes their actions are tearing down the foundation of the middle class. Yet another blessing of the Wuhan Flu is that more parents are opting for home schooling or private schooling. They got a glimpse of what's being taught and how in the public schools and have decided they want no part of that shit.

Locally the school districts are going ape shit because their funding from the State/Feds is based on student/days. The loss of revenue is dramatic so they're screaming for more money. In this state the governor has dipped into the Federal Wuhan Flu handout to continue buying the Teachers Unions votes. Their problem is that it doesn't appear that the students are going to come back into the public school system so soon enough they're going to have to bite the bullet and fire a LOT of teachers.

The solution is to institute a voucher system that includes the private schools. But the Union is vocally opposed to such a measure. They know that the private schools can, and will, fire incompetent teachers and they also know that a great many of their union membership fall into that category.

When the government touts itself as the epitome of fairness and the final arbiter in private sector labor disputes through the NLRB, there is no justification for Unions in government employment, other then to impose a system of collective thievery designed to destroy the merit system and pick the pockets of hard working, taxpaying, Americans.
