Aren't you tired of hearing this touted on most govt. Leftist news channels?
"Isolation can be brutal, we need to look after each other's mental health.
Now even 2nd/3rd world countries and even some laypeople are starting to parrot it.

People aren’t snowflakes, they have the inner resources to find alternatives to and cope with isolation’.
If people feel worried or stressed, it’s because of other issues.

To me, the meme seems both state-paternalistic, deflecting and patronizing.

I do not consume anyone's from those sources.

I’m interested because since joining your guys' GB pol. debates, I gradually started to realize that Economics /Politics /Social Psychology are interrelated.

This meme startles me, because it’s been repeated non-stop by --not just mainstream news-- but also by top-level politicians.
Apparently Jacinda Adern and Welsh/UK officials, who were trained in Tony Blair’s third wave neoliberal school, keep touting it.

I feel that it foreshadows some trends in Policies/Economies.
Just like the meritocracy, freedom and responsibility for yourself etc. discourses foreshadowed Right-neoliberal policies.

Not that the UK-NZ paternalistic-statist new approaches are any different than the American-Australian corporatist ones. Same beast.

on a semi-related manner.
Just saw this re the "copy-and paste" state of the worldwide press
Hey AJ &, what's your opinion on it?

"A study by Swiss Propaganda Research (SPR) noted, "most of the international news coverage in Western media is provided by only three global news agencies based in New York, London and Paris: AP, Reuters, and AFP."
(AP = The American Associated Press AFP = Agence France-Presse).

SPR notes: "The key role played by these agencies means Western media often report on the same topics, even using the same wording. In addition, governments, military and intelligence services use these global news agencies as multipliers to spread their messages around the world.”

I'm confused. You have a problem with encouraging people to check on other people during a global crisis?

Oligarchical Systems tend towards a strong man.
The top levels become ossified by fear and begin to run on autopilot
more concerned with not saying the wrong thing than saying the right thing
in order to preserve their standing and power, so they become indecisive, vague and "safe."
Eventually, the tyrant emerges, turning them into Quislings and they become, in effect, "Ring-wraiths..."

[A Lord of the Rings reference.]
