Sirhan Sirhan recommended for parole

To be honest it's kinda hard to get all riled up over a dude who killed a Kennedy. One could argue he was doing the country a service.

Should assassins of USA pols get free passes now? If certain candidates fall victim to cheeseburgers, will their servers be charged and then paroled?

Enough there. If Sirhan^2 is released in the USA, I bet he doesn't survive a week. I asked a relative who use to run a life insurance company and she wouldn't sell him coverage at any price. He'd best seek refuge in Kabul.

Update: since Friday's news, other members of the Kennedy family have chimed in to say: fuck that.

How old is he, what are the conditions, and what are the details of why they are recommending parole?

77. The whole thing is under a 90 day review anyway so as I understand it has to be approved by a full board. I'm not sure if they have published the conditions or any of the other parameters, but then again, other than hearing about it, I haven't followed the issue very closely.

Ultimately the Governor (whomever that is at the time) has the final say.

I'm not sure I'd call over 50 years behind bars a "free pass," but there's a good case to be made that political assassinations should be treated more harshly.
