Alternate History Idea

I got myself a pretty gung-ho idea that I need to get off my chest and would like feedback on. Say the setting was in medieval Europe (I have not decided what year or what era in the medieval times the story would take place yet. Suggestions are welcome) and a nomadic horde invades Europe. This nomadic horde, led by a powerful ruler, is notoriously patriarchal. All men are in positions of power and women's sole purpose in life inside the horde is to serve those men, in every way and they fall for it. The horde's ruler's sole purpose of invasion was to take, whether it be land, beautiful women or gold. Any feedback or suggestions?

That's pretty mainstream. For an alt.history, write of a European invasion by a tide of Scythian women-warriors seeking slave-men and other wealth. On another site than LIT because underage, have a children's crusade turn back into Europe for conquest, wealth, and tits to suckle.

Your idea is a good one. Please don't take it as a criticism when I say it has been done, because EVERYTHING has been done, and that's no reason not to do it again. But the GOR series by John Norman has many novels exploring similar themes. He likes to base individual novels on specific countries and eras from history and explore both the political and sexual machinations that occur. There is plenty of room in the world of literature for you to add your unique spin to the genre. Go for it!

Or you could turn it into a future history where mankind has decimated the planet and has taken centuries to finally get back to where they were in the dark ages. Except, now they have laser swords and blasters.

Too much?

Possible spoiler alert: Reminds me of A Canticle For Leibowitz, except it starts with a new Dark Ages and ends up with I guess would be late 21st Century technology to us (self-driving cars and such). Except there is no sex depicted and hardly any women at all. Not surprising as the main characters are a group of monks.

...the main characters are a group of monks.
Q: What sex does a monk get?
A: Nun.

Monasteries, where the burros run frightened.

But I digress. Sure, let's have a patriarchial conquering horde, where studly men with tight abs take what they want... at least, they *think* that, though aristo harems decide just which slave girls are suitable to join them. "Where's Nafartiti? Oh noble lord, you have fucked her to death! Don't you remember? That night, with the camels..."

For a REAL alt.history tale, tell it from a cybernetic camel's POV. The solid queen has taken many human lovers but she only attains relief with the robo-camel, a time-traveler from Century XXII CE, equipped with tasty lube gels.

Alternate history ideas, if they are are at all plausible, don't seem to offer a lot of great sexual ideas. Well, there is A Handmaid's Tale, which doesn't seem that sexy to me.

I've toyed with something like that. After a future break-up of the United States, a socially and sexually conservative nation is established in which used to be the central states. Teen-aged girls are encourage to get introduced to and set up in marriages to slightly older guys. (I'm basing this on some guy's speculation in a comment on a "manosphere" website.) The marriages are sort of arranged, but there is some flexibility in that if the initial meeting or two doesn't work out, then other matches are tried out.

Non-marital sex, however, is virtually forbidden. However, prostitution does exist "underground." It's sort of a mix of Saudi Arabia and 19th Century America.

The plot is that a couple is introduced, and they try to get away with sex without committing to an engagement. I think they get caught and are punished for it.

The irony of this is that the new nation is not universally beloved by its citizens. Some of them try to escape to the other, more liberal countries around it. The nation adapts East German-style border controls to stem the outflow of population.

Again, that's normal.

Alternative would be prohibiting relations with a marital partner. Each partner would be assigned a group to mate with and the offspring would be raised by the married couple the female is part of.

An idea, but not mine. You're welcome to try out your concept. I've heard something like that before. Ira Levin's This Perfect Day is pretty strange. A group of programmers have set up a computer to run the lives of everyone else in the world. It outdoes Huxley's Brave New World in its completeness, I think.

My concept relies on the "voluntary" cooperation of its citizens, which is why it is on the verge of collapsing perhaps, as East Germany and in fact the entire Soviet Union did. After the breakup, there was a "reshuffle" for about a year when people were allowed to move to whatever new country they wished.

More people left then came in (there was an especially high attrition among whatever Blacks and Latinos were there). Of the people who moved in, expecting some kind of Trumpian paradise, some were ultimately disappointed, especially regarding the lack of the promised economic growth.

The young people, including my couple, grew up with this, but they have heard about how it used to be and also they do get info from outside. Even present-day China can't control all the news people get, although they try.

The first alt.history I read was by Herman Wouk (author of Marjorie Morningstar and The Caine Mutiny), the book If The South Had Won The Civil War, with a drunk General Grant breaking his neck falling off a horse, and RE Lee (a Colonel when he deserted the USA) sweeping to victory. Start with that premise, and have traitorous Confed troops rampaging through the industrial North, raping and pillaging as normal. Plenty of interracial violence, I bet. And revenge. And a bit of steampunk for fun.

How is this alternate history, its our history....

Not just history, but the present.

You think is an erotic idea move to Afghanistan with the rest of those women enslaving animals that all need to be castrated...notice no one's running in to help? Know why? Because all the men in the world think its great, you're obviously one of them

Your idea is a good one.

No surprise you'd think that.

Wait until minimus max, story ideas biggest BDSM poser and advocate for legalizing rape shows up, he'll be spurting his three dribbles all over this thread.

This is why I rarely come here, 90% of this trash forum is 'women as slaves"

Rename it the incel clubhouse.

Don't quote me on this, but when Sherman's troops went through Georgia and then the Carolinas, they destroyed a lot of property but I don't think they did much raping. I'm sure it happened a few times, but it was nothing like what happened in other wars, especially World War II.

Nor did the Confederates rape anybody during their invasion of Pennsylvania. If anybody has other information, let us know.

Harry Turtledove wrote books about the South winning the Civil War, and then took the story all the way up to 1945. World War I was also fought on American soil, with the Federals and Confederates going at it again. The South loses this time, but they are not reabsorbed into the Union although they lose territory and have to pay reparations.

The North supports Germany's war in Europe, and they win. Eventually, I stopped reading his endless books, because Turtledove, although he's really a historian, is a mediocre novelist and wordy to boot. But a Hitler-like figure named Jake Featheston does come to power in the Confederacy.

To be fair, the Taliban and other advocates of strict Sharia law are harsh on women but do not rape them - at least not Muslim women in their own countries. I believe it would be considered dishonorable.

Not sure about ISIS (mostly gone now, I think), but those guys were utterly crazy.

We can do alt.histories at the wholesale or retail level.

* Wholesale: a war ended differently, or an invention succeeded or failed, so the world is not as we know it now.

* Retail: the path of my life took another fork leading to odd consequences.

Many of my LIT stories are the latter sort, exploring what-ifs of relationships. Suppose I (or they) had (or hadn't) done something specific? What could ensue? Cue the hot fantasies.
