St.Patricks day...fuck me pumps..![]()
I've tried some stiletto heels, but my weight causes them to break.
I've seen this heel around, and I've resisted sharing it... I don't really like the elastic detail... I feel it marginalises the appearance of the heel... I think a buckle would be more in keeping... So I thought I'd ask you all, Ladies and gents... Thoughts?

[/QUOTE]As someone who walks out of her heels frequently these days, I would prefer the elastic for practicality sake, especially since it would allow me to feel more confident in my wearing of them. My feet are slightly different sizes, so sometimes the fit of the heel (or lack thereof) is really important.
But you know me, Justplatonic, whatever it takes to allow me to actually function in heels is what I prefer. And sometimes a buckle just doesn't cut it/or give enough.
And I LOVE this color. It's very close to my favorite, although I'm not a fan of MY toes showing cleavage.

Those are my ex-wife's go-to-shoes for sling back high heels.
- They have a platform, which gives my wife a bit of height.
- They are peep-toed.
- They have that elastic sling-back.
Neither I, nor she, has an issue with the sling-back being elastic as to us the ease of them does not distract from the look. Tiny buckles are not always easy to manipulate when she just wanted them off for hard-core, throw down sex.
Hey CuttingEdge... Interesting... Duly noted... Thanks... Easy for through down sex... If there ever was a reason for elastic, there it is...
But seriously, as I mentioned to ImiGirrst I have a new perspective... Your post has helped a lot too, thanks...
ImiGirrst is also right in that most people hav one foot about a half size smaller than the other. With cheap shoes, that size difference is not compensated for like on more expensive shoe designs, so one shoe fits better than the other. Those elastic sling-backs help in that because when made the same, the holes in tiny buckle shoes are also even. Elastic sling-backs though compensate by their very nature.
It is interesting to note elastic sling-bags is not the only place elastic fabric is used. My wife has a pair of leopard print high heels that has a bit of elastic material around the top of the toe. This keeps the shoe on better, but comfortably so. They are more of a high end high heel, really unnoticeable, except they do not show any toe cleavage.
LOL, Crownvic... I'd agree if She commanded it...

Hey ImiGirrst... I'm such a muppet...
I obviously didn't see the comfort/convenience aspect... Thank you... If I see elastic in a heel I like, I'll share it... I always value/appreciate your opinion...
Just curious about your toe cleavage comment... As a fan myself (big surprise), do you find heels designed that way physically uncomfortable, or do you simply prefer not to wear them?
I can literally feel the fibers of muscle in the balls of my feet spread apart when I walk in heels without good padding. And it used to be, the balls of my feet would get sore, but I never felt like I was actually doing damage and potentially getting bone on pavement before I hit my 40s and put on the weight. It's very disconcerting.
Another pair for you

Hey Firecracker... Gosh... Sexy feet, in sexy heels... Doesn't get much better that that... Thanks for sharing...![]()
Okay, I don't get the application of that concept here. 'Splain please.
Well, let me clarify a bit more - you post pictures of an ideal - that's the whole point of these kind of pictures (that's part of the reason I'm a bit harsh and judgemental about having a seam in hose at the toe - I don't think it's the ideal/IRL it might not be able to helped but I go out of my personal way to avoid wearing it). I mean, there is a reason there are specialty hand and foot models. And I question if any of them actually have to walk in any of the shoes or photos that they are posing for. I happen to agree with you in such an ideal setting, elastic screws up the line. In fact, I also think a buckle screws up the line of a sling back, unless the shoe is specifically designed to make a bit of a statement with the design WITH the buckle. I wouldn't pull focus on elastic or buckle unless that was the intended point.
Completely 100% pure personal preference. And I have no idea if shoes with toe cleavage are less comfortable - I simply do not buy them because I don't like them, so I have no frame of reference to answer the question.
What I do find myself looking for these days is a bit of a platform, even though I don't need it whatsoever. In a regular pair of three inch heels, I already stand 6 ft tall. Put me in a platform and I can get close to 6'2", 6'3" - which makes me damn intimidating. (I took a picture with a well known actor once, and had a friend quip that he thought the actor in question was taller than that - I noted I was standing 6'2" in the picture - we were the same height.)
I find that I need the support on the balls of my feet.
Warning about blunt description of a graphic image - you might want to skip if you are squeamish
I used to have THE BEST pair of kitten heel sandals that I wore for YEARS. Black, cute, strappy things that went with everything. I once walked a mile and a half on the Sunset Strip in them. Allowed me to have a phenomenal hip wave which when I wore them with a black wrap skirt slung low around my hips and a crop top just made me totally feel like the song was written about me. I had them reheeled and then had the tong put back in more times than I could remember. And then the balls of my feet started to give way - and they were only about an inch and a half tall and no about of sticky gel padding did a damn bit of good.
But now?? Gotta have padding or I can't wear them for more than 10 minutes, which sucks the big beef weenie (and not in a fulfilling way). And like I said before, no amount of gel inserts helps. They are a complete waste of money for a number of reasons.
