Right after he was served a subpoena from Swallwell he blurted Trump made him give the 1/6 speech.

Then at the rally he tells everybody to forget about the election fraud and concentrate on 2022 and 2024.

Is Brooks trying to get himself kicked out of the MAGA fraternity, or is he getting scared shitless that this stuff isn't going away?

He already was scared shitless. That's why his wife was the one who got served with Swallwell's subpoena.

It might also be an effort to detract attention from the fact that he expressed support for the would-be DC bomber last week.
