Biden Afghanistan Speech

Don't tell RightGuide - He thinks Biden is lost somewhere in the wilderness, or maybe he thinks Biden is fasting wandering the desert for 40 days and 40 nights

If his speech makes the same points of his statements over the last few days, he should be fine. We missed our chance to wipe out the Taliban in 2001/02, we couldn't make the Afghan army want to fight, and there was substantial agreement that the status quo of the last 20 years had to end.

The Beltway media is squawking about "weakness" and "defeat" because of their fetish for crap like Bush in a flightsuit, but the country moved on long ago.

Someone should tell Joe that Trump did not win the election. Joe apparently doesn’t know he’s president.

Lost in his mind, absolutely. He'll give a speech and we'll see that he doesn't know what he's doing.

And it's not as if Sundown Joe has been shy about overturning each and every policy that trump had in place, no matter how well it was working. Now, all of a sudden, he's got to follow Trump's plan in Afghanistan tothe letter?

Sorry, you mumbling old dotard, you own this shit-show.

Please specify.

Our troops were not involved in combat ops, we hadn't had a combat fatality in 18 months.

Afghan troops refused to fight is a lie, 28,500 (aprox) police and troops died providing security against the Taliban.

He implied a false choice (so did Trump) , we didn't need to leave Afghanistan, we had a small footprint there (2500 troops), our allies had the majority of troops and they wanted to stay. Without american air power any hopes of success has vanished. We created this clusterf@ck and to bail does more harm. This was all bumper sticker rhetoric that we had to leave and take american troops out of harm's way.

Our presence in Afghanistan was working just like bases in Japan, Europe, Korea which gave those regions stability. Have to consider are we better off having a presence in that neighborhood or leaving and giving up all forward bases and intel.

This was a presence to keep islamic terrorism in check.

Nicolle Wallace said 95% of those watching will agree with what Biden said, and 95% of the White House press corps will disagree with it. She may have gotten the percentages slightly off, but that's basically correct.

Biden and Trump were running for president, which requires you to have a handle on public opinion. They both got that people were done with Afghanistan. The political press corps, on the other hand, has internalized the idea that you're not a Serious Leader unless you're sending people off to die somewhere.

.
And that is how you preside in an address to the nation.

Pure class.

It's so refreshing to have dignity and gravitas restored to the White House.

Thank You President Biden!!!

I won't argue that point but at the time the american people wanted revenge for 9/11, so, it's easy to monday morning quarterback decisions made under such duress. 20/20 hindsight is never wrong.

Address the nation 5 days after you lose a nation to your opponent, handed them modern weaponry and training facilities to lean to use it against you, and then blame your predecessor who's been out of office for 7 months for it.

If you believe that's how "a real leader" is supposed to do it, you're bat shit crazy.
