Paying for sex in Texas is now a felony.

You should probably shop local for that. Bringing 'em up from Texas is a Federal violation of the Mann Act in any case.

hey...

I wonder if trading cans of corn for it is illegal?

ONLY IF--, the prosecutor can prove that you traded it to the female specifically for the purposes of having sex with her...

Oh wait a minute--, we're talking about Texas,
no, there 'YOU'--, have to prove that you didn't trade the corn specifically for sex.

Texas state motto:

"Black may be beautiful and tan may be grand
but white is the color of the big boss man.
GUILTY---! until proven innocent."

Psst wanna buy one of these?

Isnt it still illegal in texas or somewhere in texas to buy sex toys?

Everything is illegal in Texas except carrying a weapon and killing someone who is not white.

Makes an argument for just taking it whether she wants it or not (and they all fucking want it). I mean if you're gonna go to jail either way you might as well make it worthwhile.

And it's Texas, man. The options are accept and deal or GTFO. Anything else gets you on the most famous death row in the world.

It contrasts with the Australian experience. In Sydney last year a judge upheld the claim of a working lady against her client. He declined to pay (I wanted to say he stiffed her but thought better of it)

The client claimed she provided a poor service but the judge ruled that he had pre-agreed the contract without any performance criteria, the judge held the contract valid and ordered the client to pay.

Nice!

This is a great stride for women's rights. The author of the bill is a black Dem woman and signed with support of GOP. It is designed to crack down on human trafficking since vast majority of women in the game are there against their will in some way or other.
Feminists should be cheering but it seems only conservatives are happy.
Whatever, this should be replicated across the country.

Looks like it’s a felony in 12 other states as well. Texas was late to the party.

Has anyone asked sex workers in Texas their opinions on this, or are they not relevant to this "pro-women's rights" measure?

I roll my eyes whenever I see a problematic new idea being sold as an anti-human trafficking initiative. "If you question why a consensual transaction between adults should be a felony, you must favor kidnapping and the exploiting of children." Yeah, fuck that.

Another great argument for making prostitution legal.

Coincidence???

It is a bill designed to appease the religious right. Your assumption that "the vast majority of women are there against their will" is just that, an assumption, un-supported by evidence.

In jurisdictions like New Zealand and Australia which have legalized prostitution, thus making it a woman's choice, two things have happened. Firstly there have been substantial numbers of women, particularly students and younger mothers willing to take the jobs, and secondly, because of increased local supply, trafficking has become unprofitable.

Why do legislators feel the need to legislate on what women choose to do with themselves?

I don't pay.

At least no more or any other way than the average Dick.

I have one lady Friend that told me that if she ever found out I paid for some pussy with her still around she would choke and beat me...not my thang!

Actually I was off having wild sex all weekend and am still recovering.
