Pets in the pandemic

A lot of people in Australia decided to take on a pet during the pandemic. The lockdown period. During the time when non-essential workers had to stay home and work from home. I don't know why these cunts thought they'd take on animals, maybe because they thought it would be nice. Well fucken apparently, record numbers of pets are being surrendered to animal shelters because people don't want their pets anymore. Some people just don't have as much time now that they've gone back to work blah blah blah.

What do we do with the pets? Do we put them down? Do we hope that other people adopt them? What the fuck do we do with all of these dogs? And by dogs I don't mean the cunt human dogs that adopted them, I mean the carnivorous kind pet dogs. With the good sense of smell etc.

I fucken hate people sometimes. Actually, all the time. I just hate them more right now.

I was observing gaggles of nubiles around ASU today. (Purely for prurient reasons.)

I realized, as I watched that more of them had dogs than I remember and all of the dogs were well-behaved. Usually, student pets are a bit neurotic. It occurred to me that the dogs are getting more time with their humans and so they are better socialized and more secure.

I just don't get it. I mean... We have two cats now. They were both from the street you know, so they are hardcore.

I'd sooner return my car than one of our cats. They're family. They're our fur relatives. How in the fuck people can adopt a pet and then go "Oh nah actually changed my mind." Like they're a fucking coffee machine or some THING you return because you have one already.

Pets are so wonderful for many people in the way they bring so much joy, and it’s not too surprising that pet adoptions and pet rescues have increased over the last year during the pandemic. We adopted a dog several months ago. He was infected with fleas and had some health issues, but we addressed a vet, found a good Pet Pharmacy, and he received proper treatment. Fortunately, he is fine now. And I'm glad that more and more pets find home nowadays.

In the 10-15 years a dog or cat could live, the owner may become financially unable to feed the pet, who may then be taken to a shelter or killed at home. Rehoming is unlikely when many people become too poor to keep their pets.

I hope I don't become hungry enough to eat my cat.

I love dogs! We have Lily for 5 years now and recently I've adopted another little furry from the local shelter called Bianca. . They both are now part of my family. It is absolutely not understandable for me how can you get rid of them.

I live in semi desert country in Queensland on a fairly large property. Cats are a permanent problem, feral cats; it is rare for a month to go by without either my manager or one of his kids shoots a cat.

We take no pleasure in doing it, but every one of those feral cats kills four or five small animals/day, and every one of those cats or their ancestors was released to cause havoc with the wildlife by some idiot owner. I would sooner deal with the owners, rather than the cats they abandon.

Feral Dogs are a lesser problem, except occasionally they breed with dingos to produce a less shy, bigger, and more aggressive cross, but we see them only rarely.
