Donald Trump did not appear to donate his salary from his last 6 months in office as promised, says report

It is unclear what Donald Trump did with his salary from his last 6 months in office, which he promised to donate, according to The Washington Post.

While in office Donald Trump pledged to give away all of his $400,000 annual presidential salary. For the first three and a half of his presidency, he donated the money to federal agencies.

The Washington Post said it surveyed all major federal agencies and none reported receiving anything from Trump after a gift in July 2020.

The paper said it could not account for the the last $220,000 of his salary.

I guess it went the same place as his post-presidency campaign donations.

The paper said it could not account for the the last $220,000 of his salary.....

Don't worry some random other paper or that paper will make something up and place it right next to the story debunking the 11 women that got groped or sniffed by Biden....

Speaking of lost money where is the income from Hunter "from" when he paid it to the "big guy". That would be much more interesting. It is obvious he did not spend it all on crack. He still has funds for art supplies. Or does that all come from the DNC fund raising account?

Along with Senators and House reps!!

And term limits for Senators and House Reps, just like President!!

A republic needs a class of experienced professional politicians; government is no business for amateur "citizen legislators." If we are to have term limits, they should not be lifetime limits -- e.g., you can serve one term in office, sit the next term out (perhaps while serving in some different office), then run again. That eliminates the advantage of incumbency while still leaving us a pool of experienced political talent.

As for the salaries, it was a very important advance when the British decided to pay salaries to Members of Parliament -- before then, only the independently wealthy could serve. (American legislators were paid from the beginning.)

Nobody goes into politics for the money -- at least, not in terms of salary. The only big money to be made (legally) is in post-office lobbying jobs, consulting, speaking fees and book deals.

Then only rich people could serve in the office.

But, what poor man ever did?

Not poor, but Harry Truman never was rich. Joe Biden didn't accumulate wealth until later in life either--and then from book deals, which anyone in his position can get.

Would this be the same Donald Trump who said we would never see him again if he lost re-election?
