Maybe you should ask yourself....who actually has been lying to you?

LMFAO!!!!

Damn near if not all of the political "news" media is actually lying to me. Everyone is pushing their sales pitch.

If you think you've been getting "real news" but only from your partisans approved outlets?

If you haven't figured out they're ALL selling you, collecting your clicks, accumulating your view time, mining your cookies and other data so they can sell it???

You're probably a brainwashed partisan douche.

I admit, I skimmed it, so I won't dig into minute details and instead just make a few observations in relation:

From my interactions with right wing folks, (mostly with Trumpies, but not limited) are:
1. A lack of solid factual foundations to their claims. Most of the time, they build an argument on a foundation of belief. Certainly everyone has bias enough for this to be true, especially in today's culture of modern media, but the right seems more apt to hold on to those beliefs even when shot down with overwhelming evidence disproving their "facts".
2. A "war" of the highest degree of good vs evil. Again, this hyperbole is not only evident in one ideology, as I've seen the same from the left. But it reinforces the above even more so.

Both of those combined make it difficult to openly discuss anything objectively, but then we reach the last one...

3. Incoherent grievance listing - both the above inevitably lead to just some sort of them listing out their entire laundry list of their opposing party. So you may be discussing immigration, but now you also must address deficit spending and CRT and slavery and Benghazi and "fake news" and.....

Number 3 is most definitely prominent in right wing discourse. I've rarely encountered a lefty who can't stay on the topic or that tries to shift to some other grievance....or just lays down their entire list so that if you can't explain it all, then you're wrong. It's really a wonder to behold at times.

Add to that a huge amount of conflating topics, oversimplifying topics and obfuscation of topics......

I've said it before...makes discourse difficult. I feel like I'm not discussing a topic as much as defending myself from missile attacks.

^^ Broken record by the Whiny Bitches

You lack content. Every post is just you whining.

You aren't looking for solutions because your problem is that you're a disgruntled dipshit.

Leftists never say, "I disagree because of X." It's always: "You shouldn't speak because you are Y or Z... hateful, white, a Trump voter... whatever." It's almost as if they have no arguments for their positions, and so hunker in stubborn ignorance defended by bullying meanness.

And yet I explained why your edited video did not provide objective proof to your assertion.

() . o

I am fine with people providing their perspectives, but I won't have a discussion regarding a topic where our versions of objective reality is not aligned.

And I prefer to stay on the topic at hand instead of having to address unrelated grievances. (i.e. Jan 6 != 2020 Protests)

Three year old left wing revisionist history chock full of false information and misinterpretations of historical fact. The writer tries to white wash American concerns over communist totalitarianism and the existence of people here who supported and apologized for it.

Here from a speech a couple of years before his death are the words of JFK describing the challenges we faced during the Cold War with Communism. Remember while reading he was the most popular Democrat in the United States:

Today no war has been declared--and however fierce the struggle may be, it may never be declared in the traditional fashion. Our way of life is under attack. Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe. The survival of our friends is in danger. And yet no war has been declared, no borders have been crossed by marching troops, no missiles have been fired.

If the press is awaiting a declaration of war before it imposes the self-discipline of combat conditions, then I can only say that no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent.

It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match.

Those interested can read the entire speech here:

The very same enemy exists today. It is alive and more than just well, it is active and thriving in it's war against America and the West. The difference is it's here, in our midst.

He was a wannabe dictator. I would love the exact quotes from these two you are referring to. So much of this ends up as things nobody questions because we know at some point some language that could be interpreted as such exists but still.

Regardless it is outstanding that the Biden administration is doing this, the worst part of this is they should have been LEADING from the front and put this out as part of the first hundred days. It is NOT even close to the behavior you would see from a dictator.

The military HAS to take the flu vaccine every fucking year and the flu not only is less dangerous than Covid, generally doesn't spread at levels similar to this, is HIGHLY unlikely to kill a healthy adult.

If your kids go to public school they are forced to get a number of shots and boosters.

People need to stop defining any time the government makes you do something as a dictatorship.

Which does not mean he was not mistaken. In historical hindsight, the Soviet threat never amounted to anything like American pols of both parties were always saying at the time. They bankrolled the CPUSA and maybe got some intel from it sometimes, but that was about all -- there was no systematic Communist effort to subvert anything about American society or politics or economy. Certainly the USSR played no role in the social and political upheavals of the 1960s. And, no, it wasn't behind rock n' roll music, either.

The USSR does not exist today, Communism no longer matters at all as an international revolutionary force, so what is this "same enemy"?

From the article in the OP:

One of the binding agents holding the conservative coalition together over the course of the past half century has been an opposition to liberalism, socialism, and global communism built on the suspicion, sometimes made explicit, that there’s no real difference among them.

You are full of crap, as usual. Walsh was full of crap when he wrote that BS article.

International Communism does exist in the form of the CCP which is emerging as an more fearsome foe than the Soviets represented, They are in our midst. The have penetrated out institutions, they have compromised out Intel Communities as well. I wouldn't be surprised of they weren't influencing Biden's NSC, or our military.

That is even more delusional than the John Birch Society's line during the Cold War. China is "in our midst" in the sense of making stuff we buy, and that is all. They are not trying to turn America Communist. They are not even trying to turn any of their Asian neighbors Communist. Whatever internationalist elements Communism has the Chinese have long since forgotten.
