A lot has happened in the last two weeks that may result in the retirement of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The face of the government’s Covid-19 response may have finally met his Waterloo. The way things are going, a forced retirement at age 80 may be the best outcome that “Dr. Doom” can expect.

It's also possible that the virus was discovered in wuhan (the wet market being the prime vector) and, being as yet not fully understood, was being investigated by the lab and that led to further spread. Perhaps the investigations will finally make a determination as to its origins, but we can be pretty sure china was guilty of covering up facts that should have been shared with foreign governments. Just as we can be sure the trump administration knew more but decided to cover up and deny the severity of the novel virus, against the wellbeing of americans.

The wet market didn't sell the kind of bats that the virus comes from. Further, the virus has genes spliced in it that are common among engineered viruses.
