'Pandemic of the unvaccinated' burdens busy US hospitals
Fri, 16 Jul 2021 21:05:03 GMT
The COVID-19 comeback across the U.S. is putting pressure on hospitals at a time when some of them are busy just trying to catch up on surgeries and other...
the highest numbers of cases are in deep red states which also have high poverty levels and poor healthcare. which means that you and i are footing the bill for covid care for these people.
by now, it's obvious that the vaccine works and is safe. yet it has become a political indicator to go un-vaccinated, as evidenced by who is getting covid and the locations of the surges.
one of the right's arguments against undocumented aliens is that they are a strain on the healthcare services. they made the same argument re: hiv and pregnancy in the poor.
now we have a situation where it's acceptable for a whole swath of the population to not take simple measures to insure against infection and the right wing applauds.
how is it acceptable to willfully break the healthcare system simply to make a political statement?
