99.5 % covid deaths are the unvaccinated...6,000 in June!

According to Trump, the reason for so many Americans refusing to get the vaccine is they don't trust the 2020 Election results. More Fake News from the horse's mouth.

Only the ignorant stopped wearing masks even if they were vaccinated. Only the ignorant will stop wearing masks in the future. This virus is here with us for all time. Ever. It will never go away. It is true there was once was a time it could have been controlled...but that was over a year and a have ago. Now...because of the choices of the ignorant...old people will always have to face the reality they may die a death they didn't have to.

Get used to it. Masks are with us forever

Let's see, 6000 in June, to put that into perspective we have to consider that about 225,000 Americans die every month normally. Around 7500 a day on average depending on the source. So in June it was another 200 a day. Doesn't seem like an Earth shattering priority to me. Note this number of 6000 is a number trending much lower than the highs in January. So, it's no time to panic or to try and create panic.

Telling vaccinated people, most of whom diligently followed public health guidance for over a year, that they need to mask back up because of the people who have refused to get vaccinated or take Covid seriously, is mistaken both politically and from a health perspective.

This all stems from the original decision that requiring vaccination in order to participate in a reopened society would be "discrimination" against pro-virus mouthbreathers. But inconveniencing the responsible doesn't really worry politicians, probably because we haven't stormed enough Capitols lately.

Accommodating an increasingly ignorant and fragile bunch of anti-vaxxers is a recipe fror Covid disaster in the fall.

Fortunately, masking and social distancing efforts can mitigate the pressure on healthcare systems by limiting the spread of Covid and other respiratory diseases. It obviously isn't the optimal way to deal with the crisis, considering the availability of highly effective vaccines, but it's better than the alternative.

Thank you President Biden!

So all we have to do is reinstate the traitor in chief, and then the Deplorables will get vaccinated and live???

Hard pass.

:D

This is a little hysterical. I know dimwits calling Covid "just like the flu" was a bad joke for most of 2020, but that's basically the case for the huge majority of the vaccinated. Now, are some vaccinated people going to get very sick or even die? Yep, but that's true for people who have had flu vaccines too, and we haven't made a point of wearing masks everywhere despite the flu's continued existence.

I don't want to die either, but it's to happen at some point, and I'd like to enjoy myself in the meantime.

Don't thank him, he's praying for its return.

Is that why he keeps going on television telling the American people to be diligent and pushing for everyone to get vaccinated?

You guys literally bitched and moaned about Biden "going door to door like Nazis asking for papers" and now he's praying for its return.

This. This is why you'll never earn the respect of true patriots.

I think if there had been more widespread acceptance of the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, and less disinformation, President Biden's goal of 70% of adults vaccinated would have been achieved, resulting in herd immunity and reduced transmission. Then the need for continued adherence to mask wearing would have been unnecessary.

Once again were in the position of trying to flatten the curve, so we don't get hit with the double whammy of Covid during flu season, and the resulting strain on our healthcare system.

Our healthcare workers have been rockstars during the pandemic, and they deserve better than having to deal with another wave of Covid that was entirely preventable.

SAD!!!

I don't give a fuck if they are Republicans or Democrats...let them get sick...let them pay for their hospital stays...let them deal with the long-term consequences...and yes....let them die. If you are too fucking stupid to get vaccinated...you are too fucking stupid to vote. End of story
the problem i have with this is there are those who aren't yet eligible for vaccination (the youngest) and those with immuno-compromised systems who are advised not to receive the vaccine as yet. PLYS, the youngsters wh might want it but whose parents are refusing to let them get it!

fully vaccinated, i still don't want to contract this disease (or carry the much heavier viral load associated with delta) in case i pass it along to those who are unable to be vaccinated.

as for those who've chosen not to get the freely available shot... they're the epitome of the obscenity that lurks at the heart of wealthy countries, not solely america those america, or the usa, seems to be the poster-child.the vaccines are here, they're effective, they're free, but people won't get them. poorer countries still crying out for the chance to get shots in arms must feel so disgusted with the mentality.

i'm pretty surprised health insurance companies haven't stood up yet and either announced 'you're not going to be covered' or 'we'll cover you but your premiums have tripled' since this is all largely preventable

Be ignorant. Not my problem. It isn't hysterical. It is fact. See...the problem the ignorant can't get their head around...this is a World problem...not just a developed country problem. When will the World be vaccinated? How many people will contract this virus? What is the probability a mutation beyond Delta variant will result in something the vaccines won't work on? How frequently will we need boosters for new variants? And here is the key point....if you can't get people to get vaccinated now...why will it change for the future? That's right...it won't.

So how do get out of this the quickest given the realities we face? By letting the virus run its course in the quickest way possible. This results in the virus basically running out of hosts quickest. But there will ALWAYS be new hosts. Why does polio still exist? Why does the measles still exist? Only once in human existence have we eliminated a virus. Smallpox. Guess how it was done. Vaccines. But if you can't get people to be vaccinated...how does it happen?

agree with all of this

it's especially hard on the hospital staff, double-trauma because of selfishness, ignorance, and cult-mentality leading them to believe their 'prophets'

with the surge in infection numbers and the boosted rates, the death-toll will surely be rising in the very near future. all we can hope for is that there will be a breakthrough in self-preservation when the anti-vaxxers see their fellows start dying, and dying, and dying. in the meantime, a far more in-your-face program of PSAs should be hitting all forms of media-platforms to push the efficacy of the vaccines and the risks of not getting your shots.

the PSAs may change some minds, but the thinking of the selfish will only ever be affected by the deaths of those close to them and the fear they may, themselves, die

They don't want to put aside their new found unconstitutional police powers.

Most stores, bars, restaurants, salons, etc. don’t require masks anymore. LA County is an exception. They reinstated a mask mandate effective last night but as of Sunday afternoon most individuals and businesses are ignoring it. It seems even Californians have moved on.

Los Angeles is the most populous county in the United States. I would say that they haven't moved on. Why spew dumb shit rather than using some critical thinking and research?

Yes, it appears most people have moved on. Fewer and fewer people have been wearing masks since the mandate was lifted in June. The mandate was reinstated last night and has been widely publicized, but from what I’ve seen in my outings today, people are not bothering. Go to Ralph’s supermarket in Culver City and count the masks. 😂
