California's GOP Reps push back on state's controversial 'equity in math' program

There is a 'proposed plan for California public schools to "phase out" the option for students to enter accelerated or advanced mathematics classes and require students to study at the same level until junior year of high school.'

Just like a Democrat: Instead of working hard to elevate everyone - which can be done, but Democrats believe minorities are stupid - they decide it's just easier to keep everyone stupid. And why? Because stupid people vote Democrat.

I would have hated life without my AP Classes, but thankfully, California has some hard-working Republicans who don't want to 'stifle creativity, free thinking, and innovation."

Does your husband ever just backhand and tell you to stop being such a whiny little bitch?

Apparently SK will start every post with D-Bags from now on

If I had a husband, he wouldn't be the violent type and I'd top the hell out of that ass - but, I'm straight, so, I've had to let my share of homosexuals down gently - and as for you, it's funny that you have no defense for California's Democrats.

Repubs: 1, the Obvious Stupidity of Democrats: 0

Oh look..misogyny ...who woulda think?

Haha..mansplain it to me d-bag

How about you do something for yourself and learn the meaning of 'misogyny' so that you can apply it correctly when the situation arises.

You need to learn to help yourself; you're an adult - I hope - and you need to stop asking people to hold your hand as you move forward on your path.

You've never been an adult..why should I be? Lol

Proponents of the plan say that it will address "systemic racism in mathematics" and accelerate achievement over time by putting all students on an even playing field, especially low-income Latino and Black students.

This hearkens back to Oakland's push for "Ebonics" because English was racist (and apparently far too difficult for minorities to master).

What I want to see is the compelling argument that Math is "systemically racist." Not some mumbo jumbo bullshit.

And what is the true goal here? To insure that no matter how ignorant the student they'll manage to receive a High School Degree? What we're talking about here is reducing the value of the HS degree to an 8th grade equivalency, if even that.

Actually I believe that the true goal is to keep poor performers in the classroom so that the school system AND the State keep receiving those matching federal funds. It's all about the money, not the education.

A also see Classism at play here. Children of wealthy Californians who can afford private schools and private tutors get access to better education and therefore better college opportunities, and therefore more promising careers and therefore...therefore...therefore always staying above the average California citizen.

The ruling class gets to stay the ruling class.

That's always been true. The problem is that the middle class that can't afford top tier private schools are trapped in this proposed system. It does nothing to elevate the poor performers and everything to diminish those that might excel given the opportunity. Classic Socialist/Communist doctrine, drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

Now they're just furthering that divide.

I move how you expect more

If I post after I've caught my buzz, I may misspell a word or two - whatever, that's life; somebody will jump on it because they think it's an insult - but when you drink, you just become impossible to understand. I hope you're drinking after posting those words in that order.

Which begs the question, "Is it purposeful?"

I don't think so, back to the money. I think that it's an unintended consequence of a group of people (teachers unions) looking out for their own interests without having considered, or even caring, about the consequences.

They know for a fact that the fewer students, the less money, the more of their members jobs will be in jeopardy, and coincidentally, the less dues the union will collect.

This is another instance that points out the danger of public employee unions and is exactly the danger that George Meany spoke of to FDR when he (Meany) convinced FDR that public employee unions were a really bad idea.

It was easily understandable to anyone with an above room temp IQ.

Your first insult failed, as has your second while also making you look incompetent.

Would you like to dig yourself a deeper hole by giving it a third go?

Math is very racist. Look at how many orientals are good at it and how few whites are.

The Harrison Bergeronization of America's schools.

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General.

And Bud still blamed it all on the thugs.
