The "seafood" section is all fish, sometimes lobster. Don't Chinese eat fish?

American Chinese menus may be short on fish but in China and here in OZ the Chinese people eat more than the locals. There are about 1m Chinese in OZ mostly recent migrants. After a few years here the younger people import there own parents as minders for the grandchildren.

Fish is a bit of a luxury for these folk and the older ladies love to buy fish for their family's morning congee (rice porridge) They then facetime their friends back in China and boast about it (It's an inidicator of wealth and success).

I employ almost 40 Chinese and this is just one of the small quirks of their culture that I have become familiar with.

"The "seafood" section is all fish"

So, if it's all fish, then what's the problem?

maybe you meant to say, no fish, instead of "The "seafood" section is all fish"?

What a wanky post, makes no sense. But if I try to my take on what you really meant, I'd say prawn and squid are always available on our British/ Chinese menu so tough luck pal
