Celebrating Juneteenth (Chicago style)

Violent crime rates tend to be much higher in red states than blue ones.

A violent gang dragged a Chicago-area couple out of their car on Saturday night and shot them both.

The male victim died from his injuries, and the female victim is reportedly in critical condition at an area hospital.

The incident took place in Chicago's Humboldt Park as the family was reportedly leaving the city's 43rd annual Puerto Rican People's Day Parade.

The male victim — identified as 24-year-old Gyovanny Arzuaga — reportedly sustained gunshot wounds to the back and hand, along with a graze wound to the head, before succumbing to his injuries. He was reportedly shot at point-blank range.

CHICAGO -- Yasmin Perez and Gyovanni Arzuaga fell in love at first sight and were inseparable. They died together during a brazen weekend attack.

The parents of two young children, Perez and Arzuaga were gunned down Saturday night amid Puerto Rican Day festivities in Humboldt Park. Arzuaga, 24, died that night and Perez, 25, Tuesday morning.

The deadly attack has drawn national attention and has emerged as another flash point during a particularly violent year in Chicago. Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday vowed to track down those involved in the "horrific" shooting, captured on surveillance video that was circulated widely online and in the media.

Missouri is a "red" state with two jurisdictions that are deep blue, St. Louis and KC. These two ares account for most of the violent crime in the state. This is how your statistic is bogus.
