He merely followed Harry's lead. Judges used to be approved with little fan fare. Then the left saw it as a way to push through an agenda, they couldn't get through at the ballot box.

Maybe in the 1950s with the Warren Court. By now, the left is far more sinned against than sinning in that regard.
 
This is why AOC wants Breyer to resign after this SCOTUS term ends this month. Mitch has done an amazing job populating originalists on the federal judiciary. District, Appellate, and SCOTUS. Never underestimate his mastery of Senate rules and politics. 👍👍

During the Warren Court the judges understood the need for a 9-0 decision in Brown, yet feared that they did not have the authority to make such a decision. Today's left wouldn't worry about that.

No reason why they should. When's the last time there was a 9-0 decision anyway on anything publicly controversial? A counsel of perfection.
