What should Dems do about their Kamala dilemma?

Throughout the Clinton Administration, conventional wisdom pegged Al Gore as the heir apparent to be the next POTUS. During the Obama Administration, Hillary was the lady in waiting. Now the question is who is Biden’s successor?

When he selected Kamala as his running mate, it appeared the question had been answered. US Senator, woman of color, comforting to the more radical wing of the party that feared Biden might be too centrist for their tastes. and relatively young. But now doubts are creeping in among Democrats. Her recent interviews are reminding people why her own presidential campaign crashed and burned even before the very first primary. The nervous laugh is truly cringe-worthy, no? Gore and HRC, although both losers, at least could project confidence and maturity. Both had compiled a track record of winning primary elections and both were defeated in their presidential campaigns by narrowest of margins. But Kamala? Holy shit! Fucking train wreck!

What do you Lefties of Lit think? Do you want to hand the torch to Kamala in 2024? Or if Joe makes it to 2028? Or would you prefer a challenger to the party leadership throne? If so, who?

I'd be satisfied with Harris, even though she is not really "comforting to the more radical wing of the party," based on her track record. Someone in the Sanders wing would be better, but Sanders himself is too old and I haven't heard anyone else speculating about a bid.

Why is Mrs. Harris being permitted to lie publicly, and not being called out on it? She lied about visiting the border to Lester Holt, and again during a press conference in Mexico. She needs to be asked why she is lying. They should not let her off the hook. She's a liar. She has not visited the border in her capacity as Vice President. Republican Senators and Congressmen should be there non-stop and show the people what's going on there.

This is a right wing talking point. Biden has already stated he is running again in 2024. Unless something happens between now and then to change that situation, there no reason to speculate.

As for 2028, that's 7 years of lots of things to occur that cannot be factored in.

As for Harris, I feel that she's been an ok VP, for the most part. Better than Pence, but not better than some others. The VP role is whatever any Admin makes it, though....typically it's more about whipping up Congress votes, but it's not a requirement.

There is ZERO similarity between the two jobs.

And where was your complaining while Trump lied 15,000+ verified times?

What happens between now and then is that he turns 82. He's older than Trump.

Yes, he's older. And if he decides not to run, then that will change the discussion .

It’s not a right wing talking point. He’s old, and he’s clearly not the same Joe Biden he was not so long ago. Observers on both sides recognize that his candidacy in 2024 is far more questionable than it was for other presidents in the modern era. That said, appreciate your perspective on Kamala’s viability as a candidate in 24 or 28. Initial comments from liberals on this thread suggest they’re willing to hitch their wagons to her.

The Kamala aspect is a right wing talking point. They trash her with bullshit daily.

I have no issue with her, if she chooses to run.

If were american I wouldn't want any of them. That goes for the trumptards too.

That being said, I would take a two toed gimp over trump any day.

Another day, another thread proving how frightened Deplorables are of Kamala.

kamala has everything she could possibly need going for her, e. g. she's not a republican.

Funny they never really paid attention to the VP position before. I think they hate her even more than Biden. Here's why...

She's a woman <check>

She's a black person (or Black-ish) oh my, that's too much <check>

She's a Democrat <check>

She's not a shrinking violet <check>

She hits all their visceral spots and she doesn't give a damn.

She would make a wonderful president. Women of color have to work twice as hard in management positions to prove racists and misogynists (which often intersect) wrong, because deplorables always want to challenge their ability and intellect.

It's not racist to admit that Caucasian men in higher positions are almost always given the benefit of a doubt, their competence is rarely ever challenged. Look how deplorables worship 45, one of the worst presidents the country has seen in recent years, and the most unqualified.

Deplorable posters in here can seethe at my comment, they can't deny that this is true.

What's your point? Since Trump lied, it's alright for Kamala to lie? Lose the whataboutism. Kamala and Joe* are liars. That's all that matters.

Wait...you're saying that Kamala had to work harder than a White man to attain her "position"? The woman who couldn't muster 2% in her party's Primary?
