are you one of those people who thinks the rules don't apply to them? comes across that way. :rolleyes: which is how the minority fuck it up for everyone who does play nice. i had a go at moderating this board, and it was that kind of attitude which pissed me off.

why is it they shut down the thread instead of banning people that ignore the rules?

it used to be that posts which contravene the guidelines are deleted or edited. threads might be closed for repeated 'offences'. it's only the site owner who can ban accounts/users, etc. a moderator has limited capabilities. i do know it's not such an easy task to stay ahead of it all. this is an ongoing issue with varying levels of 'policing' across the threads. an example of that is in the General Board where it seems anything goes.

In addition, it seems like they're doing a lot more policing of the boards now that shelter in place is in effect in so many states/cities. So with them being home, they're checking ALL of the threads a lot more now.

There have been several threads on the GB that have been deleted completely, instead of just the posts that were out of line.
