Despicables Got Hoodwinked

Yeah, well, that has been going on since the 1980s.

That's neoliberalism/supply-side for ya.

But according to the deplorables Trump created a job boom like we never saw. Reality? Salary growth in 2017, 2018 (when his tax giveaway should really have kcked in), 2019, and 2020 were basically in the 2-2.5% range.

My favorite is when the GQP'ers tell me how the local factories were booming, they were hiring..and you ask about salaries, and they amazingly stay quiet. This was the first time since they seriously have been tracking statistics that a very low unemployment rate did not lead to real increases in wages, above inflation rate. Then GQP types quote stats that among the lowest paid workers there were significant gains in wages...what they left out is that most of that was where they raised the min salary to 15 bucks, which of course the GQP is against.

There have been places where wages are going up, and it is because employers, especially among so called 'front line workers", are finding people won't go back to jobs that could put their lives at risk for minimum wage. The other place where salaries went up was with trucking, I listen to Sirius XM when I am driving, and on the channels like sports talk radio where they have ads (lot of the channels don't), they have all these ads for truck drivers......a lot of that of course is the boom of online retail and the need to hire outside firms to ship stuff for them or more importantly, get stuff from suppliers or the docks to the warehouses for people like Amazon.

Maybe under the "You want fries with that?" category . . .

Any job boom we saw on his watch was Obama's doing, and no economist will tell you different.
