I remember when we used to use the phrase "the flag, motherhood, and apple pie"

I remember when we used to use the phrase "the flag, motherhood, and apple pie" to signify things about which Americans were unified. It is now "an offensive symbol of white supremacy" and "birthing people." So I guess we're still good with apple pie.

You're slipping. These posts are almost coherent, with actual sentences that logically follow on from each other, and no gratuitous epithets.

That was back before a little over half the country totally fucking hated and was disgusted with the country for being just so evil and racist. :)

You're obviously flying the confederate flag.

Nope....it's the US flag that is disturbing, it's an evil symbol of *gasp* ~dun don DUUUUN!!!*~whiteness!!!

Democrats fucking hate the USA. :D
I was talking to the OPer.

I love my Country.

I definitely don't get the fascination of flags in general though. I don't feel a desire to put up a flag for anything....but that has nothing to do with my support/enjoyment/love of things.

As for the link to the woman, she was disturbed by crazy Trumpers who need flags on their cars and trucks. I find it odd myself...never did see so many in my entire life until Trump.

I love my Country.

So then why do you want to "progress" it into something that is fundamentally different??

Same here, but it's something a significant number of human beings enjoy doing as an expression of their pride, support and or love for an idea/movement/organization.

Yea because it represented 'white supremacy!!!' or some other retarded shit.

The activist writer is clearly deranged.

He made it ok to love the USA again, sending Democrats nationwide into a fucking RAGE that is still ongoing and that is why so many (R)'s fucking worship him....he really is the Troll King. :D

That's the problem with most "MURRRICA" freaks - they don't understand that realizing that we can do better for the Country and pushing for it doesn't actually mean hatred for the Country.

She was referring to the signs/stickers on those same vehicles, which add context that you leave out on purpose.

It was never not ok. You could've done the same thing in the 80s or 90s or 00s ....etc....

Also - acknowledging problems that have existed and acknowledging a more complete picture of history is not hatred...it's clarity and transparency.

The only problem with that is that when "do better for the country" means going the exact opposite of everything it's ever been about and strived to be for 245 years how is that anything but hate for what it is???

How is destroying the USA as it's been known in favor of a unitary state run by simple majority democracy so we can adopt communism and punish white people for the sins of their race "doing better for the country" ??

Not necessary the context doesn't change the fact that she's disturbed by how much people she disagrees with love this country and do not want to see it turned into the Venezuela she desires.

It was never not ok.

Dude, it's been called 'white nationalism" and racist relentlessly since 2016.

There is nothing more racist than loving the symbol of slavery and oppression of people of color.

You could've done the same thing in the 80s or 90s or 00s ....etc....

You must be joking.

Nobody in living memory has triggered the left like Trump did.

Not even fuckin' close. :D

Also - acknowledging problems that have existed and acknowledging a more complete picture of history is not hatred...it's clarity and transparency.

When you keep bringing up old problems that no longer exist in an effort to destroy and institute your own power structure??? That's hate. ;)

The ones who don't understand the we can be criitical of the Country while not hating it.....those are typically the ones still waving the losing flag from the civil war.

who is WE?
The Country
who defines BETTER?
The Country

tell us NIGGA

Maybe add the rebel flag to your signature to identify yourself better.

I am part of the country along with a huge %

We are NOT part of your "WE"

So who is WE?

Define BETTER!

WHO decides BETTER?

Yes you are. You have every ability to work for your changes or lobby against ours. That's actually how it works.

And if or when things change, it should be because we all worked to get it there, whether we like it or not.

Better - that's a complex word - mostly, creating an environment that invests in the people who drive our economy to compete globally and provide an environment where people are healthy and happy. That's probably a good foundation I always strive towards. Your definition might vary.

This belongs in many discussions on this forum...so many similar points being made and truly hitting the nail on the head.

Lying is a bug, though. Ideology is the feature.

Lying is a bug, though. Ideology is the feature. Liberals like Mara Gay can’t be right about America, but critics can’t turn to history to prove it, because history points in the direction of Mara Gay being absolutely right. So they lie about what she said, thus detaching the issue from shared reality, thus making her seem to confirm what they already believe to be true without bothering to prove it, which is she hates America.

Patriotism scared the commie girl....who like a good comrade, fucking hates the USA.

Stay offended, disturbed and upset about the US flag, it SHOULD upset authoritarian scum to see it.

That means I did my job correctly.

Now it's Pride Flag, Birthing People, and Pop-Tarts.

Apple pie rocks. I don't have strong feelings on the flag or motherhood except to say that I'm glad mothers exist so that I can and motherfucker is my favorite swear word and sometimes I do like to fuck mothers. Hell, most times at my age. And my mom made a killer meatloaf.
But yeah, apple pie.
