Fox "news" Cannot Be Trusted

You need to read more carefully.

I constantly post Libertarian principles and concepts.
Again, this is something that you cannot prove.

Damn it all to hell.
When confronted by people who can only think in terms of black and white,
what is an independent supposed to do when confronted by the lemming culture of the Left?
You're an "independent" in the same manner that Bernie Sanders is an "independent".
You both give lip service to "independence" but choose to caucus with the party you most closely identify with: Sanders with the Democrats and you with the Republicans.

"Independent" is just a flag of convenience for the two of you.

You need to read more carefully.

I constantly post Libertarian principles and concepts.
Again, this is something that you cannot prove.

You post words....and then support the Republican Party each time they go against those words. So I stand by my statement. Fascist traitors support Fascist traitors

Fox News takes a big step toward painting Capitol insurrectionists as heroes and patriots

On April 6, Fox News personality Tucker Carlson observed the three-month anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol—in order to mock the idea that it was noteworthy at all, and in a clear escalation of the effort not just to downplay what happened but to reframe it as almost heroic. Let’s review the reality.

On Jan. 6, a mob of violent Trump supporters threw aside police barriers and used poles and police shields to bash in windows and enter the U.S. Capitol. Hundreds of attackers massed outside a door and pushed en masse, shouting “heave ho” as police struggled to defend the door and keep them out. At least one officer was crushed in a door and had his helmet torn off. One Capitol Police officer was killed.

Two more died by suicide not long after. A Washington, D.C. Metropolitan police officer was Tased until he had a minor heart attack, and heard his attackers yelling, “Kill him with his own gun.” Another was attacked by members of the mob who tore off his helmet and tried to gouge his eyes out. Many officers were sprayed with mace and bear spray. A Trump supporter in the crowd was trampled to death by her own people. Another Trump supporter was shot by law enforcement as she tried to climb through a recently smashed-in window very close to where members of Congress were under protection. There’s so much evidence of what happened that federal prosecutors call it “likely the most complex investigation ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice.”

Fox "news" takes a big shit all over the truth.

The rioters who stormed the Capitol and attacked cops were white and Republicans. Therefore Tucker Carlson attempts to mislead and distract his viewers. He wants his followers to see white, male Republican extremists as above the law, so he tries to paint killing and injuring cops as heroic and patriotic as long as it's Republicans who commit these crimes.

How the fuck can they call this fucker a news anchor? He's a fucking propaganda whore!!!

The criminals who invaded the Capitol made it clear. Their ultimate goal was to killing Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence and overthrow the government of the United States.

This makes them traitors, violent criminals and enemies of the United States of America.

And Tucker Carlson wants to Claim that they're somehow PATROTS and HEROES???

If this guy worked for a real news channel, he would have been fired by now!

Besides hacking phones and emails and making shit up, how else does Faux opperate? Let's say a public figure says, "If someone says I'm a Nazi, they're fucking lying!" The Faux team loops "I'm a Nazi! I'm a Nazi! I'm a Nazi!" a few thousand times. Yes, those were his exact words. No, those weren't ALL his exact words, but ripped from their context, they say the exact opposite. THAT is how Faux works. They did precisely that with an Obama sound byte on social violence. Fuck the context; push the lie..

Rupert Murdoch, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and other leaders over at Fox "news" more closely resemble cult leaders than they do journalists.

They promote conspiracy theories, spread fear, spread hate and incite violence against immigrants, Syrian refugees, Central American refugees, Latinos, African Americans, scientists, rape victims, and Democratically elected leaders.

Fox "news" is a threat to America's National Security, and it's about time we started treating them as such.

It was a good day for one nation when Rupert Murdoch handed in his Australian citizenship to become an American. ;)

Tucker Carlson may now pose “the most dangerous threat” to American democracy.

Carlson “seems to be on a mission to make America’s worst problems even worse,” declared conservative columnist, Max Boot.

Boot recalled some of Carlson’s more egregious takes in recent weeks — from his repeated casting of doubt on coronavirus vaccines to his peddling of falsehoods about the police killing of George Floyd.

“That Carlson is spreading dingbat, dishonest conspiracy theories from such a powerful perch is certain to have deleterious, even deadly, consequences for the country,” cautioned Boot.

Boot noted how Carlson, whose prime-time show is watched by millions, just this week attempted to “paint Fox News as a lonely, embattled champion of free speech.”

“No one is trying to punish Fox News for expressing ‘slightly different’ views. I am a staunch believer in free speech,” said Boot.

“But that is not what Carlson represents. He is peddling lunatic conspiracy theories that endanger people’s lives and shred our social fabric,” the pundit concluded. “The executives at Fox News — and at the cable systems that carry it — should be ashamed of themselves for beaming this dangerous claptrap into millions of homes.”

Tucker Carlson rudely cuts off guest who criticizes Derek Chauvin: 'Nope. Done.'

On Tucker Carlson Tonight Tuesday, Carlson put an abrupt end to an interview with a former New York City deputy sheriff and corrections officer, Ed Gavin, who disagreed with him on the outcome of the murder trial of Derek Chauvin. Hours earlier, Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, was found guilty on all counts for the murder of George Floyd last May.

Carlson opened the show claiming that the jury only voted to convict Chauvin because they were scared, and later questioned if we can “trust the way this decision was made.”

This came just a day after Carlson accused the media of “lynching” Chauvin. Gavin, on the other hand, couldn’t have seen things more differently. “That was clearly an excessive, unjustified use of force. I think the verdict was just,”

Gavin said. “I think we had documentary evidence, we had testimonial evidence, and it was an open and shut case. But moving forward, what we need to do, in my opinion, is we need to have…” “How about enforce the law? Do we need to do that?” Carlson interrupted before proceeding to trash the police.

“Let's say people are going through the windows of Macy's and the cops are just standing there. Do they resign because obviously their honor is being violated, but they are not doing anything about it, when do they start doing something about protecting everyone else, not just George Floyd?” Carlson would once again interrupt later in the interview as Gavin attempted to elaborate on his thoughts, but this time, Gavin wouldn’t get another chance. As Carlson finished what he had to say after interrupting, Gavin tried to finish what he was saying but the camera cut away and Carlson said, “Nope. Done.”

Not a regular watcher of any of them, but Fox is no less credible than CNN or MSNBC, or...........pretty much any of them. There simply is very little to no impartiality in news reporting anymore. It's all 90+% opinion.

'What FOX News Has Created is a Market For CRAZY'

the former Prime Minister of Australia, Rupert Murdoch's birthplace, explained to host Brian Stelter why Fox News is so dangerous (video below). And he wasn't mincing words:

"What Murdoch has delivered largely through Fox News in the United States is exactly what Vladimir Putin wanted to achieve with his disinformation campaigns. Turning one part of America against another. So exacerbating the divisions that already exist in American society and undermine the trust Americans have in their Democratic institutions. That was the objective of the Russian disinformation campaign. And that is exactly what is being delivered by Fox News, and by other players in that right-wing populace media ecosystem."
Exactly! And Turnbull's commentary applies just as much to Donald Trump as it does to Fox News. The talk of "collusion" during the first impeachment of Trump barely scratched the surface of the conspiracy that engulfed Trump, Russia, and Fox News. They were (and still are) all working toward the same ends: Turning Americans against each other and their country. Turnbull continued saying that...

"What they have created is a market for crazy. They've become unhinged from the facts. It is now, basically, they've worked out that you can just make stuff up. Everyone talks about and complains about social media. But what is being done by curated media, mainstream media - including, and in particular, Fox News - has done enormous damage to the United States."

The evidence of the ultra "crazy" market that Fox News created is all too apparent in the Trump insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. It is apparent in the adoption of QAnon insanity by many on the right, including the QAnon supporting primetime host, Tucker Carlson. And it couldn't be more obvious than when Fox News denies that the GOP is the party of QAnon.

The anatomy of a spin job: How Fox News tried to smear George Floyd protesters after a peaceful night

Despite the fact that Derek Chauvin's murder of George Floyd was captured on film and widely denounced even by fellow police officers, right-wing commentators had a bizarre collection of reactions to the jury's finding on Tuesday that the former cop was guilty of the three charges against him. One common theme was to suggest that despite the guilty verdict in the trial, Black Lives Matter protesters who were outraged by the murder would still not be satisfied and would riot in response.

As it happened, the response to the verdict from protesters featured a mix of emotions, some celebrating, some still grieving. As the Associated Press reported:

With that outcome, Black Americans from Missouri to Florida to Minnesota cheered, marched, hugged, waved signs and sang jubilantly in the streets. The joy and relief stood in stark contrast to the anger and sometimes violent protests that engulfed the country following Floyd's death.

But Tuesday's celebrations were tempered with the heavy knowledge that Chauvin's conviction was just a first step on the long road to address racial injustices by police.

But the danger and unreasonableness of Black Lives Matter and progressive activists is a central part of right-wing messaging, especially on Fox News. So they weren't going to let the facts get in the way of the narrative.

CNN anchor Jim Acosta warned viewers of the danger posed by Fox News continuing to lie to push extremist politics.

"We need to hit the pause button and address what has been another mind-boggling week in disinformation," Acosta said.

The host played clips of Fox News reporter John Roberts, Fox Business anchor Larry Kudlow, and Fox anchor Jesse Watters lying about President Joe Biden seeking to limit meat consumption.

Acosta noted that the story had been debunked.

"But that didn't matter to some on the far-right, the same bad-faith actors who are always peddling this bogus red meat," he explained.

"What's really sad is that even prominent Republicans are still repeating this even after the story was debunked. The top House Republican, Kevin McCarthy repeated the lie on Fox News after Biden's speech to Congress."

The United States has enough COVID-19 vaccine to cover every person in the nation—and then some. In every state, pharmacies and clinics are offering shots on a walk-in basis, no appointment necessary. States and localities are offering everything from free beer to a $100 cash payment for those ready to take a jab. Even so, just 57% of adults have been vaccinated, and even as the availability of vaccine has been increasing, the rate of vaccination has been steadily decreasing.

The reason is simple enough: Nearly half of all Republicans refuse to be vaccinated. The reason behind this reason is equally clear: a steady stream of conspiracy theories and false information designed to make the vaccine seem either ineffective or downright dangerous. And no one, on any sort of media, may be more responsible for fueling vaccine aversion than Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.

Carlson seems to be feeling out the edges of the First Amendment each day, testing, probing, and practically daring anyone to do anything about it. In a way, Carlson is conducting an experiment, or challenge, like a diver plunging ever deeper into the sea without an oxygen tank. Only Carlson isn’t putting his own life at risk, or even his career—the Fox lawyers are surely standing by with stacks of paper and suitcases of money.

No. It’s everyone else’s life that Carlson is endangering. And on Wednesday evening, he plunged to new depths.

On his Wednesday program, Carlson again used his platform to push a variety of half truths and full bore lies concerning the vaccines. That included a statement that “3,362 people have died after getting the COVID vaccine in the United States.” He then extends this to “almost four thousand” after speculating over another 300-odd deaths not originally included. Carlson then helpfully breaks this down to “30 people a day” and then claims that the “actual number is almost certainly higher than that, perhaps vastly higher.”

is worth noting that the spread and resurgence of white supremacy and right-wing populist movements by radio hosts such as Fox News host Tucker Carlson signal the increased power of right-wing media and culture to promote the symbolic and pedagogical dimensions of an ongoing attack on truth, rational discourse and enlightenment values. Rather than be dismissed as a source of entertainment or the rantings of fringe elements on the right, Carlson and a number of other Trump-aligned radio hosts provide confirmation of both the reconfiguration of the racial state, and the need for progressives to understand how issues of commonsense, culture, language and social media work to reproduce an upgraded form of fascist politics. As Amelia Mertha points out, “Spectacle is a necessary condition for white supremacy. When it does not manifest in covert forms, white supremacy is the most emphatic and twisted stage show of all.” The consumption and spectacle of Black pain and suffering has a long history in the United States, only now it does not draw large crowds to public lynchings but to media platforms such as right-wing talk shows and the internet.

Carlson has a huge audience with over 3 million viewers and has one of the highest rated and most watched cable news programs in the United States. Carlson and his reactionary counterparts flood media space with racist, anti-government and Trump-based lies. They hide the truth in the shadows of a poisonous spectacle. This is about more than the current assault on facts, evidence and truth. Fox News, Breitbart, Newsmax, One America News and other toxic cultural apparatuses represent a new front in the war to use social media to both depoliticize individuals and discredit critics that would oppose white supremacy and authoritarian nationalism. They also use music, online games, cartoons and videos not only as ideological props to recruit young people, but also as part of an appeal to community and a shared culture with its own language and sense of solidarity, with its false promise of solidarity through appeals to hatred, bigotry, antisemitism, misogyny and racism. As I have said elsewhere, this is the neoliberal dream machine where war, violence and politics have taken on a new disturbing form of urgency within image-based cultures. Violence is not merely reported, it is replayed, stoked for entertainment value, and its new currency is white supremacy ramped up in the service of a fascist politics led by the former president of the United States and his merry band of lackeys.

In sync with this new cultural movement, Trump’s Republican Party, militia groups, QAnon followers, online hate-filled communities and conspiracy theorists, Carlson’s public flirtation with right-wing violence prompted the conservative columnist Max Boot to claim that Carlson “is inciting violence and abetting terrorism. He hits a new low every time he takes to the airwaves.” This is language of the spectacle in the service of a right-wing Republican Party wedded to prospect of authoritarian rule at any cost.

Stop being a partisan cuck. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. suck donkey balls. They all spin the news to fit the narrative that their viewers want.

Ah yes, the old "Both sides do it" canard. Come back when an elected Democrat compares tax cuts to the holocaust.

Earlier this month, a lawyer for the busted Capitol rioter Anthony Antonio offered a remarkable defense for his client: It was Fox News’ fault. After losing his job during the pandemic, his lawyer argued, Antonio spent the next six months watching Fox News “constantly.” In doing so, he developed "Foxitus,” which caused him to believe Trump's “stop the steal” lies and then storm the Capitol. While this defense has garnered loads of media attention for its novelty, a much more cynical courtroom defense involving Fox News and right-wing punditry has been largely overlooked.

That defense, dubbed the “No Reasonable Person” defense, has been made by a string of prominent conservatives, including Sidney Powell, Alex Jones, and Tucker Carlson. It argues that “no reasonable person” would believe the statements they make, which ostensibly gives them the right to say whatever they want—no matter how reckless or untrue. The “No Reasonable Person” defense is significant because it shows that conservative media stars and their networks, and even prominent conservative lawyers, are finally admitting that they are not reliable sources of facts: They are opportunists and entertainers, first and foremost.

Take Sidney Powell, Donald Trump’s former lawyer. In March, Powell sought to dismiss a $1.3 billion defamation suit filed against her by Dominion Voting Systems. Her lawyers argued that “No reasonable person would conclude that the statements [Powell made] were truly statements of fact.” The “statements” the motion referred to were Powell’s claims that Dominion engaged in a widespread conspiracy to rig the 2020 presidential election for Joe Biden—by, among other things, electronically switching votes cast for Trump to Biden. Those statements were repeated constantly by Fox News and other right-wing outlets, doing untold damage to our democracy by helping entrench the fallacy that the election was stolen (polls show most Republicans still believe this).
