I’m actually really shy and have a lot of social anxiety, but somehow I jumped right in. I’d recommend if someone is a lurker and doesn’t know what to post, to find a thread that they really enjoy and start there. Mine was Battle of the Sexes, which is basically just a counting game thread and so was super easy. You didn’t have to come up with anything to say, you just had to count lol. But eventually people in there started saying hi to me and then I talked a bit and made some friends and then started posting other places too.

Hi. Like you I have a lot of social anxiety and find it hard to make friends in the real world. I have been here on and off for many years, started reading stories then found the forums. Made a couple online friends but then they fizzle out.

Most if the time I do just lurk, but have posted in a few threads.

Cheers Matt , social anxiety does suck mate. Just a suggestion. Make a few changes in your signature. Lose the “ any” woman and separation time table. You’ve been coupled up for awhile and might have forgotten some man card stuff. I got your back.

Be yourself , what’s interesting to you . Birds might find that sorta stuff more interesting. Maybe sign your posts with Matt. There are several Sparky’s user names. Some have questionable threads started , some aren’t as personable as you seem to be at first look. Use your actual face in either of those , there’s a lid for every pot don’t worry about vanity , only prick teaser’s see that first. Or use something relatable to your personality. When they read your posts , that’s the face they see. It’s a fantasy world here in the little white box. Use that to your advantage.

First impressions matter , a good avatar and profile picture doesn’t hurt either. They look at those , and your posting history .....just saying.
