You really can't live without a Ginsu steak knife. Never mind that other knives cut through soda cans just as well. With a little clever marketing and the sense of urgency conveyed that you just can't live a good life without a set, Ginsu has become one of the most popular(purchased) knives sets to ever clog that back of the kitchen utensil drawer and never see the light of day, nor a steak, again.

And so are fad guns purchases such as we see in 2019 and 2020. Research (see link and referenced research in the link) that most folks never ever use the gun the purchased, that was supposed to make them "feel safe".

Question, how can one feel safe from something they buy out of reaction(fear or lacking, as with the Ginsu Knives) especially when they never get used and are stored away in a closet shoe box and are forgotten? Maybe Americans just love stuff....i.e. the vast empire of storage rental units that have appeared in the last two decades.

Maybe it is just the idea that I have gun somewhere if I need it that satiates Americans. Like Ginsu Knives or flex seal?

I shoot like 350 days a year.

Closet shoe box? LOL...no, everything is out and hot to trot... because unloaded locked up guns aren't very useful. :D

That's a human thing not an American thing.

Look at "progressives"...their whole shtick is "stuff redistribution"...they want the government to go steal other peoples stuff and give it to them.

Because they want stuff.

Yup....if "social justice warriors" decide to come "mostly peacefully protest" their house to the ground, they can defend themselves from the violent mob of "progressive" thugs.

What you and your ilk don't seem to understand is that when there is a threat to "ban" a weapon or limit its use, Americans will react buy buying whatever it is that you plan to take away from them. Its a cause and effect. Biden will, no doubt take the title from Obama as top gun salesmen for 4 years running.

I know it isn't your thing to be a normal person.

I'm talking about folks who work for a living and don't live off others so they can shoot their guns 350 days a year and don't fondle their guns like it is their balls.

Prohibition is wonderful and TOTALLY works when (D)'s want to do it!!!

It's only bad an ineffectual when others do it. :D

What prohibition got to do with it ...no mention of that here.

I'm for a prohibition of Ginsu steak knives....they suck!

I sold almost 25,000 plants, a few hundred exotic orals and a couple thousand selectively bred clownfish last year.

I "work" for a living, I'm just not a wage slave.

Everyone lives off of others, exchanging goods and services is an inherently social activity.

As does anything on those infomercials. Seriously...only a stupid person spends their money on anything they offer

That’s a good one. Now explain Hasbro’s boost in sales since the Potato Head announcement.

My mom had a Ginsu knife. The fucking thing was tough and stayed sharp. The handle was plastic and cracked and broke but the blade held up for a long time. One of the few TV products I'd say was worth the money which I think was 10 bucks or something but I was a kid so I don't know.
Never bought much tv shit myself but really only because I'm cheap.
I have used Oxyclean tho and I think it works, my ex brother in law used Proactiv and swore by it and the fucking Foreman Grill was the shit. I still have one and still use it sometimes.

Well, yes, but that's not because they are either decent, smart, or adult.
