Not only that, but locking people in isolation only keeps in reserve a huge number of people that can catch it later, when things do open up.

That may have helped. Being younger probably would have been the best medicine.
I'm visiting my two grandsons, ages 10 and 7, and they have to wear masks to school, which is insane. I have never lived in a period of time where people have just thrown knowledge and common sense out the window.

Look at the available data. States that have been locked down and states that have been open have about the same illness and death data, so what is the point of government forcing people cage themselves up?
Exactly. The point is for government to exercise its power over the individual.
 
In the beginning, the idea behind the lockdowns was sound and logical; keep people from mixing, you keep the virus from spreading and that will be the key to stopping it in it;s tracks. That made sense, and that's why, in the beginning (a year ago) the idea had so much traction. People would sacrifice their freedoms, temporarily, in order to save lives, and safeguard their health, and their freedoms later on. That was the idea anyway.

Only it didn't work. Despite all the logic, All the lockdowns led to was... more lockdowns.

And so, at some point, people, and governments, need to try a new approach. Better treatments, better vaccine distribution, better ways to deal with the virus since they obviously can't stop it. Because otherwise, I guarantee there are some people in power (Not all of whom are one particular party, mind you) who would almost prefer to see society locked down forever, and that is not acceptable.

It didn't work because people didn't do it--behind an ignorant and malignant president who called it a hoax.

That's why it wasn't working last year.

I said it made NO SENSE

All it did was DELAY things...as people would be out and about again

AND I HAVE BEEN PROVED CORRECT

But it did destroy BUSINESS and LIVES

Not to mention the mental health issues that it creates.

I'm lucky the people are pretty sane here and have gone back to living.

Actually, it was to prevent the hospital system from being overwhelmed.

Maybe that's what you were alluding to...
 
Well look at this. Anyone actually follow the numbers? Look at those for your state and see how well you did. The vaccine gives the best protection above what a person gets through getting the virus. The vaccine also prevents death and those who have died had an average age of over 80.

we all get to make our own decisions now. We know how to be safe. Choose wisely.
