A Year to Change the World...you go Greta!

Who the fuck is LewRockwell...a nobody!

And who the fuck is Greta? A 16-year-old frightened half to death by her parents at an early age over a climate catastrophe that hasn't happened.
You can look up the dire predictions taken as gospel that never came true. That's how long this bullshit has been going on. Yes, promises of more hurricanes that would be more powerful was followed by year after year of practically no hurricane activity.
Children would grow up without knowing what snow is, we were assured. Well, they got that one wrong, too.
Look out for tornadoes. Gonna be lots of them. Uh, no, tornado numbers are down.
Weather has been fairly typical otherwise. Gets hot. Gets cold. Sometimes it gets real hot. Sometimes it gets real cold.

Don't where the rock is you've been living under, but hurricanes and tornadoes are getting more numerous and stronger in the United States.

Prove it.

It comes from recorded data from organizations all over the world, all independent of each other....like Noaa, NGS, and many others.

This is all old info...and it takes a little reading of papers on Meteorology and climate from peer reviewed journals.

I guess you missed it.

That's weather, not climate, you twit.

I know the drill. When Katrina strikes we're going to have more and more severe hurricanes.
When we have a hotter than normal summer, your clown experts tell us we're going to have more of the same.
But it doesn't happen.
That's just weather, not climate, you twit.
Hey, if it warms by a degree over the next century we can handle it just fine. The one sure way to fuck it up is by putting the government in charge.

I'm gladd your ignorance will did with you, old jerk.

I'm glad you still trust NASA. Was it hotter where you lived? Didn't think so.
And what terrible thing happened with all this heat?
And how are we going to benefit with higher taxes and forced refits of our homes? How are farmers going to produce the food we need with all these new government rules.
Why should we put government in charge of our lives?

Old Urinal had to be the worst "Journo" ever.

I pity it's readers who were influenced by its fact and science deficient "reporting".

It's readers were undoubtably Trumptards.

Egads, not more name calling.

People can disagree without being evil, you know. Or maybe you don't.

I wish y'all could understand the risk about what could happen....it is a lot like covid...what we all think isn't going to be the biggest problem....it's what we don't expect.

In the last 4 years we had 3 hurricanes stall....producing some seriously difficult situations for tens of millions of folks just in the US.

I guess you folks don't know how unusual it is for hurricanes to behave this way.

Temperature...slight changes in temperature have an incredible impact on where and how many occur. It was just California burning out of control in the last two years, it was also many mid-west states, Alaska, Canada, Greece, Australia.

Australia saw something never seen before.

Maybe our resident dopey biologist can explain what happens to apple trees when temperatures don't go below freezing often enough because the climate of Wisconsin is more resembling Arkansas or Missouri.

What happens to plant pollination when temps go over 92degree F for an extended period of time when dealing with food crops that need cooler temperatures.

It isn't just water or fires or storms that become bigger issues for humans, it is our food sources that get placed in jeapordy.

You just cannot move agricultural regions to more northern latitudes on the drop of dime

Something you said really stood out, "I guess you folks don't know how unusual..."

That might be it. Lack of education at a high enough level to realize exactly how bad things have become.

The obstacles to that are all the claims of doom from decades past, which have failed to come true. So the average take might very well be the next claim is just more of the same.

So how to educate, in a way, and here's the important part, that is well-received and despite the danger level conveyed in a way that is not of the 'if you don't immediately take this as true you're evil' style.

People being yelled at, insulted, threatened, well, they aren't going to even consider you might have a valid point of view. Policies which utilize these methods of showing disdain will add few members to their cause.

Is there any way to gently nudge people's ideas about climate, because all the doom and gloom, coupled with the constant hard-line actions of both sides, lack of compromise and so on, it is getting us nowhere.

On the positive side, if we have a nice civil war, there will certainly be less people and less drain on resources. Yes, that was sarcasm.

.
Yeah, "the claims of doom from decades past that have failed to come true." LOL.

How DO we begin to educate people like NG???

Access to the Internet doesn't seem to have helped.

SMH

I'm not sure how this has become hard to see...that lots of things predicted are actually taking place and have already.

Some of the basics that have already happened.

Average global temperatures are up, just as predicted. They actually have been under predicted so if it's wrong in any way it is that the predictions were too conservative.

The predictions have been that regional climate(not daily weather) patterns would undergo a change towards extremes. This is documented as happening, ongoing, from at least three decades ago.

For instance, regionally, the mid Atlantic climate where I live, has for the last three decades become more wet, hotter on average and with season weather trending towards more intense. On average, this has already happened here and has been going on since the 1980's in a perceptible way by those who actually pay attention to things like this.

What do I mean by this...I do three things that have me watching weather(which is not climate change)...I fish in the ocean, I surf and I also grow a lot of my own food.

It wasn't long ago that winter ocean water temperatures would get to near freezing off the mid Atlantic coast. 36degrees F or lower was not unusual and mini ice bergs were not uncommon. It hardly goes below 38 degrees and a lot of years now and the ocean is in the 40 degree range.

This added temperature and moisture produces killer strong Nor'easters, which I get to surf, and this is unusual how common and how frequently these storms happen. These storms also create mega snow storms for the east coast. We just had one dump slot of snow in the North East last week. Highly unusual and contradictory to what a lot of folks think about global warming and not at all contradictory based in the scientific predictions.

Migratory fishes have had dramatic changes in behavior...ask anyone who fishes and they will tell you this is the case. Certain fish species were just unavailable through the winter(too cold) and now they are hanging around all year. (Therr will ecological consequences).

Ecological consequences: the full range of consequences are not know by anyone and like with covid, they could be dire and that is why alarm bells are being sounded all over. One concrete example is via Honey Bees. They are commonly tended and observed so there is lots of good data on them.

Honey Bees are temperature sensitive to activity and foraging. Just ask any honey bee tender if they have to supplementally feed their hives to get them through the winter and the answer is yes.
This was not true a few decades ago(almost non-existent). Warmer average temperatures wake them up at times when the should not be flying. Why? Why is this important. Honey bees store the food they need to survey winter in the hive. They are precise and in line with the climate they have experienced over thousands of years, if not millions. They are evolved to be in sink with their environment. Flying on a warm day in winter creates a situation where no pollinators (food source) are available to them, depleting there energy stores in the hive. The more warm days, the higher the energy depletions, the higher the risk.

Since honey bees are used extensively to pollinate agricultural crops(about 1/3 of all our human food relies on honey bees and other pollinators) and all flower plants rely on them to some extent) they are studied closely. It has been clear that honey bees are in serious decline and colony collapse is a serious world situation putting human food supplies at risk...this is already happening and has been ongoing for over two decades. The problem gets worse every year, costing agricultural growers a whole lot of money every year and this is why some food items at the store are a lot more expensive then they were in 1980. Again, all documented.

So,.my question is what about this isn't true or believable for you? What am I missing?

That NG is a RWJC, but not a sociopath?

Yeah, I think Will is missing the fact that NG never wanted (or wants) an answer that doesn't conform to its poorly camouflaged right wing narrative /agenda. NG is lookimg for FAUX "NEWS" level "fair and balanced" solutions to: gun violence, social and economic justice reforms, climate change, etc, etc, etc.

NG also wants democrats to "be nice" to the people who brought you "fuck your feelings" and elected the one term loser, hater and traitor in chief, aka Putin's puppet.

Is what NG wants too much to ask???

Ummmm.......yeah.

Yes, this may all be true and what Fuzzy said may also be true and I'm willing to spend a little time to find out.

Anyway, explaining what I've learned over the years and being able to explain it in a understandable manner helps me in the long run as much as it may help others to understand that man made climate change is real.

It is looking like they can't or won't actually engage in anything but baiting...
