Bernie Madoff dead at 82

From 1991 to 2008, Bernie and Ruth Madoff contributed about $240,000 to federal candidates, parties, and committees, including $25,000 a year from 2005 through 2008 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Democrats liked him.

If you want to know how serious his crimes were: he was a white collar criminal who actually died in prison.

Democrats liked him.

...And yet, if he had run for president as a republican, even with his track record, he probably would have still been elected. And then he would have denounced those who pointed out his dubious financial dealings as "Fake News."

Me too! Rory's okay with his party accepting money from convicted criminals. Ha ha!

Trump and his party, who are champions at this, certainly are OK with it--and pond scum like you are certainly OK with corrupt, criminal, predatory, racist, congenital lying, treasonous crap like Trump and several in his party. Hypocrites like you have been just dandy with that for a good long time.

Madoff was also a big contributor to the GOP, he was a big campaign contributor to old scumbag al D'amato, he contributed money to Reagan's campaigns, and was a big supporter when Giuliani ran for mayor. One thing with business scumbags is they tend to contribute to both parties, they hedge their bets, even if they give more to one than the other, and the overwhelming majority of corporate and wall street money goes to the GOP (which is why I have to laugh at the working class assholes so fervently supporting the GOP as being 'pro the working guy'...the corporations who sent all those jobs to China,to boost their stock price, mostly support the GOP, and spent 50 years trying to break the back of organized labor and with the GOP's help, did it.

How do you think Madoff got away with his shit all those years? I work in the financial industry, and you wanna know why he got away with it? Very simply, no one would challenge him, democrat or republican, an SEC auditor would get suspicious, start nosing around, and the SEC would have phone calls from politicians of all stripes, telling them to back off or they will cut funding. The idea he was a bag man for the Democrats or Republicans is ludicrous, people like him have a ton of people on both sides of the aisle. The only reason he went down for as long as he did is the judge (a democrat I might add, to play partisan politics) threw the book at him, and you didn't have Donald Trump as president, who would have pardoned Madoff and likely would have made sure that he ended up with a lot of his ill gotten loot, of which Trump would get like half of it.

I mean really the dude had a nice life and wasn't really punished all that much since there was never much chance of him spending a lot of time in prison and they were the shit years of life anyway.
A scumbag but not the worst life ever for sure.
