Most of my jewelry is stainless steel since most everything else causes some sort of reaction. I’ve had my locked collar over a year now with it removed only a handful of times but otherwise 24/7.

I wanted something discreet. You know how people in the legal field can pick up on ONE detail and hold it against the person you represent. He had hoped the circles would be a bit larger, but I think it’s perfect. One photo is how it is worn and the other shows the hex lock which is hidden in back and normally under my hair.

It was purchased. With my need for regular head MRIs, a completely permanent one would have been a waste. Again, I think he wanted something a bit grander like what you can find on eternity collar’s website, but to me even their discreet ones scream ASK ME ABOUT THIS “NOT A COLLAR!!”

Well, I certainly think it's a great collar. It's not unusual looking and if it suits the intended purpose of being your collar rather than an ordinary necklace, that's your secret. No one can say it's not a necklace if you don't tell them it isn't.
Maybe, I'd have it a bit shorter, but that's my taste and perhaps not right for you and your Master. Either way, I hope you continue to be happy with it and what it symbolizes.

You know, the original one was a couple inches shorter and it interferes with dress shirts and was so annoying. It just didn’t sit right. I was constantly fidgeting with it.

I'm positive your collar fits into, and works with, your lifestyle and that you are both happy with it as is. Beyond that, it isn't appropriate for me to insert my preferences into your decisions in that regard so I will not.

I'm trying to not overstep. There are clear boundaries and what I would do or prefer, isn't relevant to what you and your Master actually do. Inserting any of that, beyond what I have already said, is beyond what should be tolerated.
That said:
As a general note; the shorter chain would result in you noticing the collar more during the day, as you said you did. That would also, presumably, include the wearer thinking about the one who collared her every time it happened.
The irritation from the collar is trivial. It's not supposed to be comfortable, it's supposed to be comforting. But, as you said, you have other needs that alter that equation into one that better suits your relationship and personal requirements.
I occasionally see young women wearing ribbon chokers and often wonder if they know what they're advertising about themselves while simultaneously proclaiming that they're "free" and "able to decide what they want." The best ones are those who do it and then say they don't need or want anyone telling them what to do.
It's all a cover for what they really crave but won't let themselves admit.
