In 2016, Donald Trump was my 18th choice out of the 17 Republican candidates.

I supported Gary Johnson up to the last two weeks of the election. I gave up on him when I realized the guy was completely over his head. And I certainly wasn't voting for Hillary.

2020, I'm not voting for Biden.

It can be said without reservation that those who did that are both hypocrites and sellouts.

As to scum and being horrible people... how would you describe a person who embraces someone like Trump out of fear?

There are many people who voted Republican, but didn't vote for Trump.

Even many of those who did were persuaded that Trump was the better choice between two evils. People had to make a difficult choice and would have been happier with a different Republican candidate for President. They didn't have that choice. It was either Trump or Biden, and choosing Trump doesn't necessarily mean they approved of him, just that Biden was a step too far away from their convictions.

You can't condemn nearly half of US voters for choosing a bad candidate when they thought Biden's policies were worse.
