Every since the site upgrade, I can barely load the site, the categories, or my homepage with Firefox. Is anybody else having the same problem?

Safari seems OK.

I think everyone's having the same problem, though I'd say it started over the weekend. There's news on the "Disappearing Votes" thread and in the Tech support forum. They say the site took on a bunch of new readers and that slowed things down. They're trying to fix it.

My major slowdown is in logging in to the user home page. After that things go faster. In particular, I can click to the "Works" page before the home page loads, and that goes faster.

My sneaky suspicion is they are "upgrading the site" BY keeping me out ... :D But it's not working.

Same as described here. Had to reload the "Works" twice before it finally realised I had published here before... And it was very slow. But it doesn't seem to have lost anything of mine. The Forum here doesn't seem to be excessively slow or misbehaving for me right now.

I'm using Chrome on a Windows 10 box.

Is there a way to opt out of the upgrade? It's making the site super slow. I really wish this site would get a proper but modern upgrade. It's a little frustrating to use this site sometimes.

I think there's a way to revert to the classic view, but I'm not sure that helps. If the sight is slow because of high traffic, then the site is slow.

I wonder if Lit might need to monetize the site a little more in order to sustain this traffic.

Lit appears to be getting the lion's share of that traffic as well. Just checked several other text erotica sites, and the only other one that's seen a bump since asstr went down is SOL.

Guess we'll be seeing an inundation of "why can't I post this story here?" discussion board posts soon.

Laurel is probably already up to her ears in underage stories, among other things.

Just think of the number of authors trying to register so they can re-post their stories here.

Do you - or anyone else - know how to get back into classic mode? I can't for the life of me figure it out.

I tried without success some time ago. I bit on a "just try it out and you can always switch back" claim, but it won't let me switch back.

Lit asked me to sign in again, so I'm guessing they unplugged the server and tried to boot it up again old school;) Agreed it has been slow for a few days - I hope that doesn't put off readers migrating from elsewhere.

I don't know how, but then I also like the new interface better than the old. I don't have a reason to find out.

All good. I don't think it's actually possible to switch back to the old version, anyway. It's weird that the site offers an opt out version when it's not even possible.

Thanks. For whatever reason, the option is there on the site but when you click on the link, nothing actually happens lol.

There does seem to be improvement. I've noticed the above-mentioned problems and was getting quite frustrated. This morning, everything seems to be working as it should, with no delays or time-outs. :)

I've logged in and out three times in the last half hour and the user home page has loaded quickly each time. Maybe the problem is fixed.

It was happening a day or so ago, but it's fine now... at least for me it is.

I logged in about two-three hours after Manu stated the site maintenance was expected to be finished. For me, the page loading no longer has the extreme delays it had before.
