"Hero, a 1-and-a-half-year-old retriever mix, has been adopted to a forever home after he helped five other dogs escape a dangerous situation of neglect inside of a hoarder's home.

On November 13, 2020, a woman named Tonie Quinlin noticed that the dog had broken through the boarded window of a house in Columbus, Nebraska. Quinlin was outside and playing with a friend's dog across the street when she noticed a dog hanging out of the house's window, The Columbus Telegram reported."

"One by one, people adopted the other dogs. But Hero remained ignored, as black dogs in shelters typically are,"

Why?

Speak to Robert Plant.

Dunno...they say that about black cats but I assumed that's due to thick cunts being superstitious. Didn't realise it was a thing with dogs.

I adopted a black dog.
The rescue did say that black dogs are more difficult to find homes for.
Mine is a big sweetie

I would have thought that black animals are more difficult to photograph and display on the web.

Petfinder calls it Black Dog Syndrome and says this:

Through my research I learned that Black Dog Syndrome may be caused by a combination of:

  • Size
  • Unclear facial features
  • Dimly lit kennels
  • The “genericness” of black pets
  • Negative portrayals of black pets in books, movies and other popular media: A big, frightening black dog can be seen in The Hound of the Baskervilles, the Harry Potter series, both movie versions of The Omen, and even on the common “Beware of Dog” sign.
  • Black cats are readily associated with witches, superstition, and bad luck.

You been a member of this forum for over ten years and still
post pictures that stretch the screen.

What a stupid fucktard you are.

I got a black lab at the pound (probably a mix).

It was a good dog, but when I moved here, it disappeared one day.
I looked for it for a long time. I missed that dog. It was no hell-hound...
