Thousands of unaccompanied children are asking for help at the border

Re-unite them with their parents and send them back home. That's what parents are for. Contact other central, south and north american countries to take their fair share of them.

Here is what the law says:

Minor and Unaccompanied Minor Asylum Applicants
You may apply for asylum with USCIS as a minor if you:

Are under 18 years old;
Want to have your own case separate from your parents;
Are not in immigration court proceedings.
You may apply for asylum with USCIS as an unaccompanied minor, even if you are in immigration court proceedings, if you:

Are under 18 years old;
Have no lawful immigration status in the United States; and
Have no parent or legal guardian in the United States available to provide care and physical custody.
Asylum officers will consider your asylum claim if you filed your application with an asylum office and you meet the criteria above. If you are in immigration court proceedings, you must attend your immigration court hearings and should follow the Immigration Judge’s instructions, even if you have filed for asylum with an asylum office.

And the whereabout of the parents are unknown or dead the minor has the right to apply for asylum.

So what do you do?

^^^Is OK with illegals flooding the country and now hides behind the "law"

Obviously, all those kids were small enough to get through Trump’s fully-completed wall.

The law says they have a right to petition for amnesty. Are you saying that the policy position of the Biden administration should be to not follow the law. Just blatantly break the law?

I think you mean "asylum." If it's asylum they're looking for, they got it the moment they stepped into Mexico.

Not a whole lot of solutions to this - are there?

I don't recall this being a problem 4 months ago. It seems logical identify what policy has changed, get rid of that policy and go back to what didn't make the problem worse in that short period of time. The solution is quite simple.

We have millions of kids in our country that are citizens that don't have enough food and health care. I say take care of our own before helping others

The problem has existed for over a year and a half. The only reason you are hearing about it now is because our present administration is letting go you know, whereas the prior administration hid it from you

1. Return to “Don’t come. Stay the fuck at home” message.
2. Resume “credible fear” of persecution criteria, reject applications based on economic opportunity in US and/or high crime rate in democratic home country.
3. Resume disallowing destination shopping. Require migrants to seek amnesty in nearest democracy to home country. Disallow passing through Mexico and/or other democracies without applying there.
4. Resume full use of MPP (ie. Stay in Mexico program)
5. Continue pressure on Guatemala, Ecuador, & Honduras
6. Continue rapid removal program
