The fucked up thing about this is that all 15 people who died were in the same car. The OTHER 10 people in the car survived.

25 people in an SUV? Only in America.

regardless of how many people ARE supposed to fit in a vehicle, there will always be people that fit more in than there are seatbelts

I see this every day where I live

(7 full size adults in a Nissan Sentra, for example)

Have you never seen how many people they can get onto a motorcycle in Pakistan?

It happened near the California/ Mexico border. I'm thinking human trafficking, or migrant workers

The cost of human smuggling. Zero regard for safety.

Beats my experiences in southern California by 3. Once responded to a single car roll over, three fatalities, twelve serious injuries. Same scenario, a vehicle being used for human smuggling.

They cross the border on foot and then are picked up by the coyotes on this side of the border, then taken to a major city or an immigrant labor center.

We need serious reform in the area of seasonal labor migration. (My opinion, show up, ID and background check, get a work permit and then cross the borders for seasonal labor at will. Work hard. Pay taxes. Enjoy the fruits of a first world country.)

Will be interesting how many are from or even in the USA by due process.
Also interesting where the origination was? I hope the border isn't so open that an over loaded SUV allowed through. Maybe if it were an electric vehicle there could have been exceptions?

They cut through a part of the old border fencing and drove through.

This incident, like every other migrant death that will occur this year, is on Biden's hands. Like it or not. Humanitarian or not, his open border policy is going to kill/harm a lot of people. It's going to be mass genocide and no one on the Left will seem to care. "Kill them in the name of saving them" seems to be the mantra of the Left's "Culture of Death."

The Covid+ ones that are being released into the interior are going to wreak havoc among the poor and minority communities. And inviting children to come to the US, where they get put into trailers and kept there longer than the law allows is criminal. Especially when you have to open overflow centers to handle the influx and you're STILL not able to comply with the law.

Finally; under what authority can the US send US personnel acting on behalf of the US into a foreign country, put foreign citizens onto a bus to bring them back into the US, and incarcerate them while they're "being processed"?

The Biden Border has a sign -- Open For Business

He wants cheap labor.

The 15 will be replaced by 30.

Kneel for the Anthem of the white masters. Come to America where we'll give you free food, housing, and medical care. WORK! available for everyone...

Anyone see anything familiar? The only thing that's missing are the slave ships and chains because the slaves are running this way on their own.

It's all part of the pressing need for immigration reform.

The demand is there for low-cost, relatively unskilled, labor. Mexico has ample people that meet that definition. Demand draws supply.

Because the laws are such that the supply is artificially constrained. It's human nature to fill the void.

The laws should be structured in such a way that the need can be met safely. I'm often in respectful awe of migrant workers. They are willing to work hard. They are willing to take the risks, both those associated with border crossing and those associated with the work itself.

A program/set of policies should be in place that makes it safe for them. Establish identity, get issued a tax number, safely cross the border, find work (on the books) and work.

If they then want to get on a pathway toward citizenship they should be empowered to do so. If they just want to work and remain citizens of Mexico, spending part of the year here, they are free to do so.

Come to America, work hard, pay your taxes.

As a rather shameless capitalist, I'm in support of it due to the net gains from immigration, either on the citizenship path or not.

I agree that there is a need for reform. The difference is that I don't see a need to reform the immigration system into a free-for-all.

What open border policy?

Hyperbole at best, AJ.

Only in Democrat America; where there are laws to stop that.

Why did you make this political, AJ?

There are folks who support a true free for all (open borders). I come up dangerously close to it. I support "open movement based on secure ID and background verification".

Economically, the net gain from immigration is demonstrable, and only varies based on quality of skilled labor (from unskilled to "let us have all your PhD's and geniuses").

On a sociology front, the net gains from diversity are also demonstrable.

Finally, for me, on the spiritual and religious front, my religion (Catholicism) commands me to be compassionate and accepting of strangers. So, it's a win win win from where I sit.

As a pure capitalist all forms of competition are good, as it is through competition that we hone our industries to be world dominating forces.

LOL - and as a native american I often think "well, it's a little too late to close the fucking door isn't it"?

Timmy mcraney's open border policy claim seems to be more bullshit from the fake lawyer. I couldn't find this mysterious policy anywhere.
Another stanford alumna?

When you create a situation where people put themselves at serious and
very real risk of harm or death, you're not being "compassionate", you're being cruel.

I have yet to see any "net economic gain" from illegal immigration. Crime
prevails in the neighborhoods where they settle once they're here. Which
in turn requires more policing, which in turn costs more taxpayer dollars than
the neighborhood contributes. On top of that, damage to public property costs
more to repair due to it's prevalence. It is the same for
hospitalizations/ambulance services/fire dept response. Add to that the costs of
subsidized housing for the residents of those neighborhoods and what you get
is a net drain on the public coffer that the residents have zero hope of offsetting.
Which is, again, cruelty not beneficence or charity because there is no possibility
of the residents bettering themselves, their children, or society in general.

As a Native American you should understand better than most how not being
able to overcome the reliance on handouts and benefit programs costs more than
just the loss of jobs/income. It determines your personal and societal prosperity
or lack thereof.

True reform requires that we understand that we do need immigration. What we
don't need is uncontrolled immigration or, conversely, rationed immigration.

Some how some people all around the world have gotten it into their head that emigrating to the US might improve their lot in life. Who is responsible for that?

He's a proven liar. Hell, I wouldn't doubt if he created the alt that "outed" him as a lawyer.
