What no venus pics?

Well fuck, now I'm offended by your lack of proper preparation and presentation of the agenda.

The UK should erect a 500 foot high statue of Margaret Thatcher and Arthur Scargill in a passionate embrace. And call it "peace and love."

I'm no woke lefty as some of you on here know having crossed swords with me in the politics board, but I'd rather all the statues of colonialists and those that have connections to the slave trade etc, be, not dumped in the nearest river, but removed and placed in museums. They're more trouble than they're worth being out in the streets. Most of the public don't even know who they are anyway. All they serve to do is be a source of trouble.

People are twats: Gandhi was a cunt, Mandela wasn't without fault, Bomber Harris had a cat, Churchill liked a drink

No, people should not be on permanent display because they present a one-sided statement that is always political, funded by admirers. Their aspirations and achievements can be celebrated without focusing on the person and the individuals themselves would most likely blanch at the idea.

Conceptual art, like the Angel of the North, garner wider support, even affection and stand the test of time.

ETA So if for instance a city, largely built on the back of the British slave trade, were to erect a statue to the person who benefitted most from that trade, but who then glad-handed cash to the city, of course we should focus on his philanthropic works, not where his money came from. Follow the money, not the morals.
Or maybe, if the city is not ashamed of its history, it could bring back slavery, because if it was good enough then why should we ever change or recognise that a murderer no longer deserves to be publicly revered and celebrated in bronze.

If a statue represents someone who was a public benefactor but was also a slave trader, there should be a measured plaque to show the good and bad of the individual. But they should not be vilified by today's wokeness.

Children are our future. Without reproduction, we don't have a future. A few statues showing some basic positions would be educational. Faces of historic people on the statues could help raise funds.

Perhaps we ought to revive pillories and gibbets for the evil notorieties among us, with rotten tomatoes provided ro the public t express their feelings. You can't cover them up, or remove the stain.

For example, in my two an Edwardian murder took place. The house in which it occurred has long been demolished and replaced with a row of shops. There is no marker or sign, but all the locals know what happened and where over 100 years later.

A statue of the villain could be useful. or a memorial to his victim, but the authorities just try to erase the murder from the record.
