A story idea about neighbors wife

My neighbor remarked to me last night at 11:15 that he had to get up early to take his wife to work. We both work 2nd shift. He usually stays up half the night watching sports programs. I generally go to bed soon after midnite because my daughter drops her toddlers off at 6am and I help my wife take care of them before I head back upstairs to take a nap.
His wife is a part time school office worker. I was going to offer to take her to work so he could sleep in and get his "beauty" sleep. Real life, I am 66, she is a HOT looking 45 year old BABE!
Here's my story...
I offer to take her to work. He says, OK. She gets in the vehicle at 7:45 the next morning, I take her to school, minimal talk, drop her off at just before 8am. She says, "Thanks for the ride!" Just being a nice guy. On the way home I stop off at a small cafe and eat breakfast.
Wife wakes me up about 4 hours later saying, "Rob, the cops are here! They want to talk to you!" I ask her, "What about?" They didn't say. So I go down and the cops reveal to me that Marie never showed up to work, never called in, blah, blah, blah. Husband worried, wants to kill me...
They arrest me and somehow I am convicted and sentenced to life.
Fast Forward 20 years, Marie shows up confesses to disappearing for a better life, blah,blah, blah. And I am released from prison.
Is there anybody that could write that? Has there ever been a story like this wrote? As you can tell, I'm not a writer...but I have a vivid imagination!

Perhaps you and your neighbours wife have tryst on the way to her work, she decides to leave her husband but doesn't know how. Your wife wakes you up filled with rage, you think your tryst has been discovered but it turns out the cops are here for you.

Your arrested, perhaps even sentenced. Maybe then you get an unexpected visitor, she apologises but can't bring herself to confess all and get you released. Cue more sexual tensions as you convince her you could live together if she gets you out, but what then about your wife?

this version is quite literary. Would find a nice audience.

I agree that the OP idea needs to be sexed up, though there are less melodramatic versions I am sure. Just not occurring to me without coffee on board. except the simple "driving neighbour's wife to work, she confesses she wants to run away. rewards you with sex to be silent" but that lacks cops etc, just sort of flat.

I doubt that mechanism would work here. AFAIK in USA a murder charge requires certain evidence, like witnesses, recordings, DNA, and a body. Sure, collusion by corrupt cops, prosecution & defense attorneys, and judges can have the desired effect. So in this story, the accused has powerful political enemies bent on destroying him. Some of them are fucking the local wives -- consensual gangbangs? This could go in LW or Group or Interracial if needed.

In both Double Jeopardy and Gone Girl, the spouse is sent to prison for a murder that never happened. I am not sure if either of those were based on books. Neither fit into my prefered reading. I suppose that the story is possible. And if the MC slept with the false victim, it will offer a compelling explanation for his conviction. Just as the wife did in Gone Girl, the neighbors wife can go back later and stage the murder. She can leave blood, and a potential murder weapon (possibly a lamp) with the MC's prints on it.

It could be an interesting story. It has the potential for straight and homosexual sex, and perhaps he falls in love with a guy in prison. That's assuming that his wife will leave after he is shown to be a unfaithful murderer.

P.S. With the dark premise and theme of the story, I still don't see the finished work being highly erotic, at least not to the straight as an arrow demographic. I feel that it would ultimately be an entertaining read, but not an especially sexy one. If properly executed, It would have the potential for an "H", but you never know.

Another way to do it is with two MCs. You can have one story following the the falsely accused MC in prison, but the wife is never caught. With that, you can have a separate arch following the newly freed neighbors wife, as she gets to do everything she never could as a unhappily married woman. She then could get into all kinds of sexual adventures, with men, women, groups, and anything else someone with no reputation to protect could do. That could be done in one story or separate series(s). At least that's how I would approach it.

Can it be a period piece? Cus you go pre civil rights the hard part becomes being how this one black guy was in the neighborhood but a white woman goes missing and the obvious guy gets blamed works.
