Oh no, I'm sure it is.....the Earths climate has been in a constant state of change from the get go.

In fact we're still at the tail end of a higher oxygen content ice age and the Earth has been warmer and had a lot more hydrocarbons in it's atmosphere for MOST of it's geological history. The fact that we humans who just showed up a microsecond ago on the geological time scale are just now noticing it is totally cool.

IDK...ask a libertarian. I don't reject the concept of positive liberty.

Pretty open concept there, personally I take it literally....welfare for the general public/citizenry at large.

Infrastructure, civil services, regulation against or in mitigation of harmful activities ect.

That doesn't in my mind include all the special pet/pork projects and market mongering/manipulation/protection etc.

And I think a fair chunk of our problems ESPECIALLY at the federal level is because we get almost entirely the latter and none of the former from the.

I don't think there's any question about that.
This power board is 50 years old. A third of the members don't even live in Texas and they adopted California's plan for powering the Lone Star State.
The parts of the state that don't live under the jurisdiction of the power board did just fine. I would assume that is because those areas relied on a power portfolio that did not rely heavily on wind or solar and could compensate when natural gas supplied electricity was interrupted. In other words, they probably used coal-fired as well as nuclear power.
An investigation by the state legislature into this power board begins next week. Citizens are demanding indictments, though I doubt they'll get them.
There is little doubt that the power grid patterned after California's certainly performed like California's.

This is not to say we shouldn't continue to strive to be better stewards of our communities, states, nation and planet. Because they aren't wrong in saying that if we want to continue to have a nice place to live we DO need to clean our shit up. From a 7 year old kid learning to cope with that first 12'x12' piece of real estate they have to keep picked up (an impossible task!!!) all the way US federal government we as individuals and as a society need to do our best to not be trashy.

But I do agree with you, the left's hard on for environmentalism taxing/regulating this that and the other out of existence is the most lamely transparent grab for money and power I've seen in a long time.
