Valentines Flan?

I don't believe I've ever had flan.

And I needed you to empty your PM box because there was a book I finished a couple weeks ago that made me think of you and I wanted to tell you all about it without boring most of the board.

yoooo, it's funny you throw this particular book up now...there was a few mentions of this title on the Twit a couple of weeks ago...it was in reference to some of the social happenings going on. Heads were saying it was pretty deep.

now I gotta check it out! ;)

It's deep but enjoyable too. I'd been in a reading slump, but this book got me back into it. Lemme know when you finish. I'd love to hear your take on how well the author conveyed the different boroughs as actual people/personalities.

My gran used to make a flan but I was never very keen and ate it out of politeness. She'd buy a sponge base, put some strawberries on the base, then cover it with red jelly. There were too many conflicting textures for me and the jelly was rubbish.

Tomorrow I'm cooking a Valentine's carrot cake. I'm going to eat it because love begins at home and I'm the only one here.

WHAT!!???!!! That ain't flan. If anyone really would like to make flan, I would be happy to share our family recipe. Authentic, I assure you. For the real adventurous, there is our family recipe for paella!
