they are in a dog cage in the living room at the moment -(theres a mansion sized rabbit hutch/run small estate) in the back garden though - presently vacant)
I made a birthing crate last weekend when it was reasonably certain the other one had carried out one last act of defiance the day he was neutered - time proved this hypothesis to be correct, the randy little wee bastard.
they were born around 20.00 on thursday and so far have been left alone (by us, mum rabbit is very attentive - about 4 times a day, covers them, uncovers them, shoves them back into the designated, by her, area etc), we will risk looking in the birth box tomorrow, so far it looks like three of 'em to minimise the risk of tainting them with our scent, disturbing the nest, and simply pissing her off.
Thursday daytime she spent nest building, carry straw in her mouth into the birth box and pulling fur out of her chest to line the box with.

The surviving (we lost one in November) family pet dog has elected herself as picket line / border control and wont let the cats with feet of the dog cage. all in all very strange experience.

Did you not know this?
Just about all animals do this - NOT just rabbits!
All animals that rear their young do this by instinct and have for thousands of years.
Maybe you need to start watching the Animal Planet channel or even the Discovery Channel more.
