If we're going by probability then even the fact that it was against an anti-gay church doesn't actually make it more likely that it was done by gay people, this is because over 90% of planned and enacted political terrorism in America is committed by the right. I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, but do you have any idea at all what gay kids had to put up with growing up in that era? Heck, I'm not gay and I was bullied a fair bit just for having some characteristics that are traditionally feminine (didn't like sports, did like bright colours, etc.). Harassing children is never OK, I'll grant you, but if you're going to condemn it, you should also consider the reason why it happened.

And I couldn't find anything about ACT-UP throwing tainted blood at anyone. They did sometimes use fake blood in their protests.
