....because they are trapped and are fighting for their lives today.

...they have trapped themselves and it doesn't have much to do with Democrats or anyone else.

...this is what cornered animals do and so goes it with these REPUBLICANS.

In mythology the Swan song is pure and beautiful, melodic.

The final sound coming from the Republican party is more like a death rattle.

Not dead by a mile. Not even stunned by the left uppercut. Standing there more defiant and determined.

Yes....maybe more like Orcs, Goblins and Trolls fighting until Sauron was killed when ring was destroyed. Then reality set back in and they fled.

Dump talks like the lowest denominator, dregs of society, that's why he resonates with them.

Cruz doesn't have that appeal with them, plus, he isn't a blatant bigot.

Cruz is so blatantly ambitious, he supports the guy who accused his father of killing JFK and called his wife fat and ugly.

Normally in Texas if someone accuses your father of something they're not guilty of AND he calls your wife fat and ugly, they should expect to be picking themselves up off the ground while spitting out a few teeth.

But not Teddy. He just still keeps kissing DJT's butt.

Ted Cruz has no chance winning the women's vote. He wants to take their dildoes away.

Ted Cruz defended Texas ban on the sale of sex toys in state

Defending a Texas state law banning the sale of sex toys, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz argued in a 2007 court brief that individuals have no legal right to use them, even in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

If it hasn't cost him in 14 years....it's not going to start costing him now. Especially since he was right.

How dare he deprive woman from having good sex... maybe he thinks it ups his odds of getting laid.

We're naive if we think the GOP is dead. It just doesn't work that way.

Close the door, put out the light
No, they won't be home tonight
The snow falls hard and don't you know?
The winds of Thor are blowing cold
They're wearing steel that's bright and true
They carry news that must get through, oh
They choose the path where no-one goes
They hold no quarter
They hold no quarter, oh
Walking side-by-side with death
The devil mocks their every step, ooh
The snow drives back the foot that's slow
The dogs of doom are howling more
They carry news that must get through
To build a dream for me and you, oh, oh, oh
They choose the path where no one goes
They hold no quarter
They ask no quarter
They hold no quarter
They ask no quarter
Yeah
Without quarter, quarter, yeah (without quarter)
Without quarter, quarter, quarter
Taking no quarter
Oh, oh, oh (hear the dogs of doom) (no, never quarter)
I hear the dogs of doom are howling more

I'd love to think the GOP was dead - or at least due a long stay in the wilderness - but that doesn't seem to be how America works. There's a good chunk of the country that is reactionary/conservative, and the Republicans are their vehicle for political action.

The GOP has an extraordinary capacity to glide past the problems it creates, never paying the price for its incompetence or corruption. I remember thinking in 2008 that they'd be out of power for a generation, after the mess they'd made both domestically and abroad. Yet, within two years they had won back the House.

America seems to be awfully willing to forgive them. I hope it'll be different this time, but I won't hold my breath.

No, but you put a bell on it.

"This here song it ain't so sad
The cutest little song you ever had
Those of you who will not sing
You must be playin' with your own ding a ling
My ding a ling Your ding a ling, your ding a ling
We saw you playin' with your ding a ling
My ding a ling everybody sing
I want to play with my ding a ling"

-Chuck Berry
