Because of the nature of my work, I deal with people outdoors all the time. The Deplorables in my area are seething, but keeping their mouths shut for the most part. My gf and I experienced one serious incident of road rage from a Deplorable in Chevy Silverado that was decked out with Trump crap, but other than that, it's mostly been sulking.

So for now, what we are doing is the same thing you would do with any kid who just threw a tantrum. You let them pout but be prepared to take action if they explode again. We discuss and practice our security measures regularly.

Getting beyond inauguration will help. Having a President who does not believe that the entire world revolves around his every thought will help. Controlling the three elected branches of government will help.

But these Deplorable tears will be expressed regularly for quite a while, and it will take a while to get their violent extremists back into their holes.

Except from being on here and seeing the schmucks virtually tuck tail after that first week last November, it has not been an issue. For the duration of Cheeto's term, I only ever saw about three or four people in public wearing the red MAGA hats and/or t-shirts in this city. They know what fucking time it is here.

Was there some illegal war that Democrats didn't immediately sign on to that Republicans started? Were there some prosecutions of Republican war criminals I don't know about? Is there some bloated defense budgets that Democrats voted against?

If there is anything that Democrats walk in lock step with Republicans it's illegal wars and defense spending with no accountability.
