I'm glad to see the Powell statement picked up. This should set real, thinking Republicans (to the exist they exist--they just lost a key one) back on their heels.

I have always had the greatest respect for him even as a republican. This only strengthens that respect.

He lied the country into an illegal war which has brutally killed hundreds thousands of innocent Iraqis and thousands of U.S. troops needlessly. He's a piece of shit.

.
Yeah, Colin Powell, the guy that told Hillary Clinton that he used a private connection to conduct personal and government business when she asked him for advice on how to deal with e-mail communications, then threw her under the bus when she cited him as the person who guided her decision on how to conduct her own e-mail communications.

Not a big fan.

Thank you... on another forum I used to keep a running total of troopers KIA under my username.

Get the fuck out of the Mid East.

Hillary is not stupid. Conducting government business on a private server is a no brainer. You don't do it! The same if you're a cop. You don't bring a gun from home to use on duty and if you're a doctor you don't perform surgery on your kitchen table.

if you're a cop.

If you are a cop, do you storm the U.S. Capitol and kill/injure other cops trying to defend the Capitol from invasion by domestic terrorists (like you)? Is that in your bag of tricks? Asking for a friend.

Most of us never did consider him a republican

I think a lot of us just considered him to be a colon. His mom had it figured out when she named him.

People forget that Hillary is old and may be smart in some area but obviously not when it comes to digital communication. She is obviously more educated on the subject now, but back in 2008 she was a novice, as were most of us.

And none of that changes the fact that Colin Powell told her he used a private connection for e-mail communication when she asked him for guidance as the outgoing Secretary of State.

The fact that the republicans turned the issue into a constitutional crisis is laughable, and showcased their partisan obstruction. Just like Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi!!!

She also had tried and failed to get the NSA to provide her better communications systems, knowing (everyone knowing) that the State Department communications systems had all of the security of a sieve.

WTF are you talking about? A coherent response is not required but what you're saying is absurd.

He was being the soldier he always was. The president asked him to make that presentation. I'm not excusing it. I was not a supporter of that war, but I understand the position he was in. He resigned not long after and has been critical of the intelligence that was given him in retrospect. Doesn't change the numbers I know, but we were getting into that war regardless of what he said to the UN.

Ignorance is no excuse and never has been. She knew what she was doing. Powell did not use a private server in his home and did not advise her to use a private server in her home. In this instance it's Clinton that threw Powell under the bus to cover for her very bad decisions.

He was just following orders? Where have I heard that before in association with war crimes.

and yet, AFTER all the hillary 'lock her up!', trump's own family members and team did exactly that

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings on Monday expanded an investigation into personal email use by Trump administration members to include Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, bringing the number of officials under scrutiny to eight.

President Donald Trump has brushed aside accusations of his officials using their personal emails, while never retracting his blistering criticism of his 2016 election opponent Hillary Clinton who used a private email server while she was secretary of state. Trump criticized Clinton's private email use as an effort to hide illicit activity, but has not called out any wrongdoing by his own team.

Yes, the Democrats have their example of this too. Adlai Stevenson--there being no straighter arrow than him in American history--was put in exactly the same spot as U.S. ambassador to the UN during the aborted invasion of Cuba. He was a member of an administration whose job was to deliver the position of his government, not his own. His other option was to resign rather than give it--which was Powell's, as well. Might have been best, but it wasn't their policy that it was their job to deliver. And they both were operating on what the administration's intelligence given to them was.

Thanks for that.

Saved me the time googling that gem of hypocrisy.

First she is an ignorant waif who knows nothing of how the internet works when convenient then is so skilled and knowledgeable of digital communication systems she can discount all the computer experts at the NSA to set up her own secure server in her home.

Yeah....right.
