indeed
one wonders if it's this second death (and which actions this police officer took during the insurrection) that has prompted the flag at the whitehouse to be lowered to half-mast.
seems odd that the house lowered theirs the same day Officer Sicknick died from the result of his injuries at the hands of violent non-patriots but the whitehouse hasn't until this second death.

Rumor is ...
Rumor is he may have colluded somehow, whatever that means. His father is connected to Manafort.

The Capitol Police union said that Officer Howard Liebengood, a 15-year veteran of the force, “was among the officers who responded to the rioting at the U.S. Capitol” on Wednesday, when insurrectionists incited by President Trump attacked the seat of American government.
Some say insurrection, sone say coup, sone say riot, some say protest, etc. It’s an old discussion.I read an article about it and I found this particularly interesting.
Jack Schneider, an assistant professor in the education department at the College of the Holy Cross, noted at the Huffington Post last year that throughout American history, white citizens were lauded when they rose up against perceived tyranny. Actions that came to be known as Shay's Rebellion and Bacon's Rebellion were called rebellions; participants were considered patriots. "When blacks become involved, however," Schneider wrote, an uprising isn't a rebellion. It's a riot. Harlem, Watts, Chicago, or more recently, Ferguson."
Waiting for more than rumor.
the older cop went on to relate how his chief and one of the deputy chiefs was nowhere to be seen where they normally would have been expected to be there... not even on the radio. They weren't warned by their superiors of the approaching threat (other than 'normal' protests) but he received information through from a friend who sent him a tweet posted where someone was stating they were basically coming to storm the capitol building. He also welcomes the resignation of the chief but believes it goes even deeperWhile some of the images from that day appeared to show officers standing by to let the mob into the Capitol building, the veteran officer said that they had fought them off for two hours before the attackers eventually gained access. The officer said that many of the widely spread images of smiling marauders, wandering the halls dressed in absurd costumes, had the effect of downplaying how well prepared some of the rioters were to overtake the building, and even to capture and kill Congress members.
“That was a heavily trained group of militia terrorists that attacked us,” said the officer, who has been with the department for more than a decade. “They had radios, we found them, they had two-way communicators and earpieces. They had bear spray. They had flash bangs ... They were prepared. They strategically put two IEDs, pipe bombs, in two different locations. These guys were military trained. A lot of them were former military,” the officer said, referring to two suspected pipe bombs that were found outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee.
The officer even described coming face-to-face with police officers from across the country in the mob. He said some of them flashed their badges, telling him to let them through, and trying to explain that this was all part of a movement that was supposed to help.
“You have the nerve to be holding a Blue Lives Matter flag, and you are out there fucking us up,” he told one group of protesters he encountered inside the Capitol. “[One guy] pulled out his badge and he said, ‘We’re doing this for you.’ Another guy had his badge. So I was like, ‘Well, you gotta be kidding.’”
Another officer, a newer recruit, echoed these sentiments, saying that where he was on the steps to the Rotunda on the east side of the Capitol, he was engaged in hand-to-hand battles trying to fight the attackers off. But he said they were outnumbered 10 to 1, and described extraordinary scenes in which protesters holding Blue Lives Matter flags launched themselves at police officers.
“We were telling them to back up and get away and stop, and they’re telling us they are on our side, and they’re doing this for us, and they’re saying this as I’m getting punched in my face by one of them … That happened to a lot of us. We were getting pepper-sprayed in the face by those protesters — I'm not going to even call them protesters — by those domestic terrorists,” said the officer.
.....Ooops, my bad, a bunch of them were too busy taking selfies with the band of merry thugs.
These Black Capitol Police Officers Describe Fighting Off "Racist-Ass Terrorists"
Damning snippet from the article:
“There’s quite a big difference when the Black Lives Matter protests come up to the Capitol,” he said. “[On Wednesday], some officers were catering to the rioters.”
He said that what upset him the most was when he later saw images of a white colleague taking a selfie with the attackers, seeming to enjoy his time with the insurrectionists who were roaming the US Capitol with Confederate flags and other symbols of white supremacy."
Taking selfies, instead of having their fellow officers backs. Sick ass country. Racism is what's killing this country.

As investigations into the riot continue, police departments in the US states of Virginia and Washington said they had placed officers on leave as authorities examine whether they took part in the events while off-duty.
Fire departments in Florida and New York City also said they reported to federal authorities allegations that some of their members may have been present when the mob broke into the Capitol.
Meanwhile, US Representative Jason Crow said US Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy informed him that 25 domestic terrorism cases have been opened in relation to the riot.
Crow said McCarthy also told him the Pentagon was aware of “further possible threats posed by would-be terrorists” in the days up to and including Biden’s inauguration.
