Homosexual activists and their media mouthpieces demanded that civil liberties be protected and even expanded during the early and peak years of the HIV/AIDS crisis. No limits or bans on homosexual activity were forcibly imposed.
In fact special laws were made making it illegal to "discriminate" against homosexuals, junkies, and other behavioral groups known scientifically to spread the disease which at the time had a nearly 100 percent fatality rate. Even shutting down gay bath houses was resisted vehemently by gay activist groups and their political and media supporters, and only a handful of cities shut them down at the time.
Today, gay politicians, often over-represented demographically in many urban councils and state legislatures, are many of the loudest, and most extreme proponents of Covid 19 shut downs, forced mask mandates, and pimping of vaccines. Many of the confrontations and harassment of people for violating Covid "rules" turn out to be homosexuals or so called gay "allies." Not only do they show no regard for the civil rights and liberties of others, they brag about their "virtue" and "morality" in promoting restrictions and repression of the public.
Yet Covid 19 is infinitely less serious than HIV/AIDS was prior to the modern anti-viral treatments, which was nearly always fatal. In fact, HIV/AIDS remains a serious illness, a recognized global pandemic, and continues to kill large numbers of people especially in Africa.
Covid 19 recovery rate is well over 99%. Most people who get it never even know they had it. For all intents and purposes its not even a newsworthy event if not for the political agendas driving it.
The hypocrisy of the local gay Democrats in many places is beyond any description. To put it mildly these are not "nice people."
