Rimming in stories

So, I’m quite new to writing and publishing on Lit. Currently, I’m working on a story in the Incest category and I’d like to include a (brief) scene that involves a female character licking a male character’s ass for like a minute... Personally, it’s the sort of thing that would’ve turned me off from a story three years ago, before my horizons expanded and I tried it myself :)

I know girls rimming guys has become a lot more common in mainstream porn and erotica, but is it the sort of thing that needs a disclaimer before the story? Or, is it something that should be avoided entirely because of how 'most' readers could react?

I've read I/T stories that featured rimming. I don't think you need to worry about it. The anus is very popular here.

You might get some backlash if Sonny sticks it up Mom's butt. That's a different matter.

I don't think you should ever feel you have to avoid something you think would be erotic in a story just because someone else might not like it.

Incest has a very large readership and some of those readers, without doubt, are very picky about including other fetishes in stories. Anal activity squicks some of them. A reader once left me a hostile comment about including anal activity in a mom-son story. I shrugged it off. Different strokes.

You probably will have some readers that don't like that content. I don't think that's a reason to leave it out. You'll have many readers who like it.

Whether you put a disclaimer is up to you. I would suggest including it in the tags -- that way it's up to the reader to check it out.

I quite like a bit of rimming and often stick it in my stories. I don't think I’ve ever tagged it and I’m not aware of it causing any problems. Water sports are a different matter. I've had complaints about that.

Readers can be weird about their squicks.

Last year, I wrote a story about a brother and sister having anal sex, and I got a couple of unpleasant comments about the anal part.

One reader told me she would have given me 5 stars but for the buttsex. Instead, she gave me a 1. I guess she's OK with biological siblings fucking, as long as it's not in the ass.

Really, it's impossible to anticipate every individual reader's tastes. You never know what's going to trigger a 1-bomb.

I had another reader tell me my story sucked because he didn't like the lead female character's name.

I get it. There are certain things I hate in stories too (e.g., cigarette smoking). I wouldn't 1-bomb a story solely because a character lit up. But I'm probably going to hit the back button.

I just write what works for me. Not everyone's going to like it.

My anal incest story still got a red H.

I think putting it in the tags is the way I’ll go. That also helps get the story to people who specifically search for stories that include rimming (like I personally sometimes do).

Thanks for the great advice, everyone!

I agree. I tagged my most recent I/T story with "anal play" because it was a little more than rimming. I doubt the tag would do much to warn readers away, but it might bring people in.

A bit off-topic, but I'm amused by the people who read my incest stories and then bitch at me about adultery.

Whatever kink I've decided to take for a run in a story, I never put disclaimers of any kind up front. I put it in the tagline and then let readers be adults in being responsible for themselves--or not.

Wait, really? Is there some sort of "too taboo" about Mom liking it up the butt from her son? Is it worse if she wants it? Worse if he wants to do it? I've not seen this before.

Mr. Doom mentioned it up the thread, too. I've seen comments on more than one story to the effect of "Mom wouldn't like that." Maybe for every guy that makes the comment, there are ten with their dicks in hand, too busy to say anything.

Thanks, I missed his comment. I guess it's sort of like impregnation or feet or any other taboo. Some guys have their kinks and want to see it in every story while other guys are like, "Yeah, it was good up until the part with the anal sex." :D

Bitching is unwarranted, and often engaged in by those who don't read the tags.

Not sure what you mean by "Adultery," because the term is so often misused today. But "dishonesty" is a huge turn-off for us IRL. "Incest" is another term that has 3,528 different definitions, the one at LitE is very broad. Nothing "consensual" is off-limits as far as we are concerned, but again "consensual" has multiple meanings. Lisa believes that she can give Jamie a revokable right to "do anything at any time to her" but that is far broader than the definition used here.

Like age -- really like maturity level -- siblings can be totally a non-issue, while lying could be a huge "no-no" to some folk... But bitching about it is always boorish behavior.

I've seen comments on more than one story to the effect of "(My) Mom wouldn't like that." (We modified the quote to include a word the author of the comment obviously meant to include.)

Then don't do that with your mom. :D

I've included rimming. I can't remember any feedback about it other than someone marvelling that they did that "on the first date." The story is doing just fine.

It'll turn some readers on, some off, many will just read past it because it's foreplay. But you have no way of knowing what those proportions are, and you could spend weeks torturing yourself trying to pre-think it to no avail at all.

So don't worry about it. Stick that tongue in there!

I've used rimming before. Never had a complaint about that, but I've had compliments on it.
